Sorry the thread was a bit late guys! Camp was absolutely brutal today, I basically passed out on the couch as soon as I got home and just woke up .

On another note, am I the only one that seems to have an indescribable urge to break out into a spontaneous rendition of the YMCA after looking at the Crew logo? Oh, no one else? Okay, it's just me then.

I wonder how the Crew will deal with Kirk Urso's death. This has got to be tough for them.

Not really, there is only one construction worker in the song. The rest are a variety of characters including a policeman, a cowboy, and others that I can't recall.

My ideal starting 11 for Wednesday...

    ---------------Keane--------------
    Magee------Beckham------Jiminez
    --------Juninho----Sarvas--------
    Todd----Omar-----Franklin-----AJ
    -------------Saunders-------------

I think Beckham has a goal and 2 assists in this game. Galaxy wins 3-0, and all this talk of benching Beckham goes away.

Is it wrong that I know like, literally nothing about the Crew? Other teams in the East I know about: Toronto, NY, DC, hell, even the Revs. Columbus??

    o_O

Their kits do look like they stopped downloading 20% of the way down. I wanna say Brian Straus first mentioned that.

Columbus has a strong defense so expect a tight game.

Statistically Chivas had a strong defense too :)

Every time I've watch Columbus this year, I've been amazed by how far Chad Marshall seems to have regressed.

No Donovan, no Becks, no problem. We've got Stephens and Villareal ready to go....

(yes, I am trying to stay positive about this, people....)

    --------------Keane
    Stephens----Magee----Jimenez
    -------Juninho---Sarvas
    ---Backline-of-Aweseomeness
    -----------Saunders

    Subs: Villareal, Noonan, Gaul

I like that Beckham won't be playing against Columbus. He's probably worn out from all the travel, but we probably won't even need him tomorrow. Even without Beckham and Donovan, I think we can pull off a win.
I'd rather have Beckham rest for another week and be completely ready for the CCL match...even though I don't know how good Metapan is. I'm guessing with the extra rest, Beckham can play in at most three of the four matches we have coming up in the next couple weeks.
    8/23 Metapan (CCL)
    8/26 FC Dallas
    8/29 Puerto Rico (CCL)
    9/1 Vancouver

My guess is that he will start against Metapan and Dallas. Maybe come on as a sub against Puerto Rico, and then start against Vancouver.

As an added bonus, it's good that after the Columbus game, 5 matches are at the HDC. The next away game is 9/19 against Puerto Rico.

It'll be interesting to see what kinds of lineups Bruce will put out with so many games crunched together.

Same strategy as last year: bunker like crazy, hope Josh has a blinder, sucker punch in the 90th minute optional though very much preferred.

Yep. This 5-game homestand coming up after the Columbus could really make or break our season. 3 MLS games against the teams just below and above us in the Western Conf. standings and our 2 CCL home games. If we can win both CCL games and go 2-1 on the MLS games (and if one of those Ws is against Vancouver) then things will look really good for the stretch run and a chance to pip a guaranteed playoff spot at the wire...

Of course, first we gotta take care of business in Columbus and at least eek a point outta this one tomorrow night....

We will do well with that line-up. Becks disappearing acts are getting frustrating.

I know this is beating a dead horse... but I searched the internets, and could not find anything that told me why Becks was at the closing ceremony. Was he just there to see his wife perform?

We sure are a slow team when Donovan is away. I guess Franklin can overlap for some change of pace, but Villareal does not have that extra gear like Landon.
