One of the few times a year I get to see the team live, so I'm really looking forward to it. Shame there's going to be no LD, he usually seems to do pretty well here in Dallas. Hopefully the team can continue on it's goal scoring form, and with the hopeful return of Omar, maybe they can actually stop the other team from scoring again..
Omar is from Dallas and his family and friends always represent well when the Galaxy are in town. Is he ready to start though? I certainly hope so. It's gonna be damn hot. Forecasted high on Saturday is 104.
I hope Bruce rests all the starters for the game this Tuesday, and especially Gonzo. We don't need anyone hurt during a friendly!
Has he actually announced he's going? Right now he's off to the All-Star game, something he might have missed, but nope, he'll be there. I'd like three points off Dallas, but I'd be happy with 1.
Yup, with no LD and possibly no Beckham 1 pt is looking mighty fine right now. Hopeful that the hg and some academy players get lots of minutes in the tottenham game so that the guys are nice and fresh for the dallas game. Our schedule is about to get really congested so we need to make sure not only are guys getting/staying healthy but that the minutes are controlled throughout the rest of the year. If everything goes according to plan we may all look back at the end of the year and laugh at the way the year started. This team is starting to show glimpses of its potential so hopefully this spurs all of the guys to continue to work hard and not get complacent.
With Landon out and Buddle still not ready, do we use Robbie as a single striker, or pair him with McBean? Or is Chad back from Norway? Am I forgetting anyone? Noonan? Dallas may be terrible (just ask Portland) but we still need to put the ball in the net.
According twitter Barrett was back Saturday and watching us beat Chivas. I would imagine he'll be in the team on Saturday unless something goes down before then. We can only hope! I for one would love to see McBean and Villareal play Saturday.
Aren't the opening ceremonies for the Olympics this Friday? I think it is a very safe bet that Beckham will be involved in that and won't be at our Saturday match. I'm ok with it too since it was not doubt known before we renegotiated this 2 year extension. My expected line up (depending on health and getting through Tuesday without any problems): -----------Kean0-------------- ---------------Barrett---------- Sarvas-----Juninho---------Franklin -------------Stephens--------- Gaul----Omar----DL---------AJ --------------Saunders---------------- Weak but competent squad.
Perhaps I'm petty, but if I made it know that I wanted to be on the squad but wasn't selected, I'd let them promote their games on their own. But I'm not much of an Olympics fan, especially Olympic soccer.
While I enjoy the Olympics, you make a good point. Being snubbed from the line-up probably means he doesn't want to be their mascot... but maybe that's just how I'd feel about it.
Yeah but it will be in the high 80s or low 90s by game time. I live in Houston. I know the weather here lol
Also with no Landon, no Barrett, and no Buddle who starts with Keane? If Magee is ready to play, I'd love to see Keane and Magee up top. Magee is a smart player who gets into dangerous spots and with Keane creating chances, I think Magee could get us a goal. Other than that option do we play Villareal or go with the 4-5-1? ------------------Keane-------------------- --------------------Villareal---------------- --Magee--Juninho--Beckham--Jimenez- --Gaul--Delagarza--Gonzalez--Franklin- ------------------Saunders------------------ That's my ideal line-up but I don't think it will happen sadly.
We managed three points in Chicago with no Becks and LD. That came from Keane. I'd rather have an extra midfielder and play conservatively than stick Barrett in (he's back) since he helps us a grand total of 0 with possession. Keane Magee (hopefully) - Stephens - Juni - Sarvas - Jimenez Gaul - Gonzo/Lopez - AJ - Franklin Saunders ******* Don't think Villareal is ready to start, so if Magee isn't ready to go, then stick a striker partner in who will help possession.
Yesterday, the temperature here (in Frisco) was 102. The forecast says 102 for Saturday. What are the odds it stays that way though? Anyway, at 7pm it was 98.6 with the heat index of 101. Might see low 90's, as in around 93, by the end of the game.
Looks like a good game to play a young guy like Villareal. He should be rewarded for that golazo anyway. Bruce should just ask Keane to not yell and scare the crap out of him.
