What do people think the chances of this are, as there is talk of the £9million clause in his contract to leave, and he stands a better chance here in the US of not getting injured as often. Plus, he'd be closer to his surgeon if he does get hurt again. Who do you think could entice him over here?

No chance. He's way too young to want to come play over here.

Yes, Owen...but if we are to dream then I believe I shall pull for Henry to DC...hmm, Barca or Barra...

Actually, DC needs some good defensive help, so I'm thinking John Terry might be in need of a change, and if Jose gets the boot, he just might be open to the idea...

    Here we go again!

Much as I like Owen (and he is one of my favorites), this is the most ridiculous DP rumor of all.

First of all, he is too young for MLS. He is still (when healthy) the first choice striker for England (even ahead of Rooney in my opinion). He has 6-8 years left in his career (if, and that's a big if, he stays healthy).

Second, with those dodgy hamstrings of his, he would be (almost) literally killed in MLS. Between playing on artificial turf for half of the games (depending on his team) and the roughness (re: lack of skill) of many of the MLS defenders, he would not stand a chance.

Third, he went from starring at Liverpool, to playing well (at first) for Real Madrid to Newcastle. Going to MLS would be a giant step down (don't bring up Beckham, we all know he is not coming here just to play soccer-he is looking at endorsements and to grow the sport in America).

His case is one of the saddest in football. A tremendous player who just could not stay healthy and moving to MLS would be the saddest move of all.

I would rather see Fowler in MLS than Owen, I think he would fit in MLS better than Owen.

I think that's where his surgeon for the last injury works, so no surprise.

I think his signing is unlikely for any MLS team, but he's still the skill and age group that MLS teams should be willing to offer millions to; more than the 33+ guys.

Theres no way, Liverpool and Man U have come out and said there both watching the situation an if he decides to leave theyll pursue him, and picking between an MLS side or Liverpool/Man U I think he'll opt for the English teams

So, just to recap, that's Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane, Henry and now Owen heading to MLS, with the owners looking to purchase Man City, Leeds United and Sunderland. Did I miss anything?
