Do you live in Bucks County, relatively close to Warminster?
    Are you 35 or over?
Do you want to play soccer on Tuesday nights?

I signed up as an individual for the Over 35 Men's Soccer League at the SMG SportsPlex in Warminster. All the individuals get placed onto a team together, and I was told there are at least 3 other teams signed up for the fall/winter session. However, the mutt squad only has 4 players so far, myself included, and it needs at least 6.

So, what are you waiting for? Let's play some footie!

i would love too, but a- im 34 and b- im not all that good.

I also live in philly, but work in blue bell, so i could prob get there on tues nights as long as they dont start until after 630 or so.

only thing i have going for me is i am in good shape, so i can run alot without dying.

Him and I becoming buddies is pretty much an inevitability.

How long do i have to sign up?

That's a good question, but I don't know the answer. From the email I got yesterday:

... the league does start next Tuesday November 5th and as of right now we have about 4 teams including the Individual team which you signed up for. We have 4 players on the Individual team and looking for a few more if you know of anyone to join. As for the schedule, we only publish the first week game times and then the full schedule a couple days later just in case late teams or players sign up.

I can't do Warminster on a weeknight, but this is what my 36 year old ass needs. I've done PSSC, but I definitely feel "old" in those leagues.

Live in Bucks and definitely interested (though not 35 for another 2 months!!). In terrible shape but sounds fun.

Dills, do you still need players?

Last I heard - mind you, I'm not organizing this in any way, shape or form - there were only 4 players on the makeshift team made up of individuals. There needs to be at least 6 on the team.

Yeah, tonight's first games start at 8:50. Game times are anywhere from 7P to 11P, or something like that.

I'm always happy that I have some Naproxen on hand post-soccer.

I can run ten miles and be fine. But something about the stop/start kills my legs in my "old" age. It was so much easier at sixteen.

Not bad per se. No pain no gain and all that. Tough to play 6v6 with a bunch of guys you've just met against another bunch of guys who might've been playing since their freshmen year at <insert NE Philly high school name here>.
That's it right there ... fast-twitch muscles you're not used to using. I can do a 35-mile bike ride and feel all fine and dandy the next day. This ish is brutal today.

The league just started, and we desperately need players. We've played two games so far with 5 games left. The next game is this Tuesday at 10:55 pm (a little late, I know, but it's the last time this season that a game will start at that hour). If you're really interested, just go to the desk and tell them that you want to do Men's Over-35 soccer, and ask if there's any way that you can get a discount since you missed the first two games. Unfortunately, I have to travel for work, and I'm going to miss the next two weeks, and I was the keeper, so if you can play keeper, they'd love you instantly.

Yeah, I had to miss last week because the missus was away for work and I was playing the role of single dad. Crazy that Tuesday's game is so late, but I'm definitely not going to miss it.

Played a bunch of Polish guys last night. I swear one of the guys was Piotr Nowak. Or maybe the love child of Piotr Nowak and Edward James Olmos.

Have I lost my starting goalkeeper spot yet?

I'll be back for the next game, and subsequent games after that.

No offense to the guy who played in your stead, but letting in 12 and 10 goals respectively over the past 2 weeks, it's safe to say we probably need you back between the pipes.

I wonder if Danny Mwanga's going to register to play again. He sweats an awful lot for someone who doesn't really move.

By the way, I still have a fat lip from taking that shot to the face. Playing goalie during this stretch has been a thankless job.
