    Neymar... lol
I'd rather have Dembele and I don't want him either.
Heck, I'd rather have Phigo return.

    Ok, no I wouldn't.

Same. Neymar had his chance to return, it didn’t happen. Now that he’s seemingly on the decline and taking his age into consideration it’s a hard pass for me.

Barcelona's renewal offer to Dembélé in December 2021:
    Salary: €7.5 million net
    Variables: €3.5 million

Barcelonas renewal offer to Dembélé now:
    Salary: €6 million net
    Variables: €1.5 million
(and no commission for his agent)

Love this. Take it or leave it. I honestly hope he leaves it but he seems to have had a major change of heart. Probably after realizing that the lack of interest from other clubs at his ridiculous demands is indicative of the fact that he isn’t as good as he thinks he is. That’s what you get for being a greedy cnut. He isn’t worth a penny more than that.

Indeed. His agent also deserves zero as he led his client into a position where his options have gotten worse even as Dembele's on-field play improved a bit.

I kind of hope Dembele accepts this lower salary just so we can move on and focus on improving other parts of the team. And we may be able to recoup this salary by selling him next summer or the one after that if he resigns for a few years with a reasonable salary.

This was totally predictable. Who in their right mind out there would want to place a bet on Dembele after all his problems ? Unless it is a very cheap bet. Mind boggling that they thought they could play this game.

he tries to be. he's better than most but still gets a lot wrong.
transfer news in general are becoming increasingly unreliable as both clubs and agents use the media to plant 'stories' just to strengthen their hands in negotiations, then the media laps it all up and adds their own spin for their own gain. truth takes a backseat to competing financial interests.

Looks like FdJs deal will be 65m + 20m. Far below what the club wanted (around 100m). 100m was a bit much to hope for IMO.

Yep. And Lewa's price seems to be creeping up. In the end, it will probably be around the same as FdJ's price.

    Another piece of poor business.

You mean FdJ's preferred position or the one he actually played while at Barca? Soler seems pretty close to the latter to me.

But not sure why FdJ is the scapegoat when you have a 33 year old Busquets.

I’ve mentioned this before, but while Frenkie is undoubtedly a very good player, I feel he has never reached the heights he did while at Ajax. There are several factors than may have contributed to that, including him never getting real opportunity to play in his preferred position.

With that being said, he reached those heights under Erik ten Hag, who now coaches Man U, the team who are pushing hard to sign Frenkie.

So it wouldn’t be such a bad idea for all parties involved to make this move; Barcelona for the needed cash and the apparent lack of trust in playing him in his preferred position, Frenkie for the proper opportunity and a coach who has gotten the best out of him in the past, and Man U who is in dire need of a proper midfielder and are willing to build their team around him.

He's banking on signing Bernardo Silva which is short-sighted.

He could start FdJ in his natural position and then have Kessie cover the hole once he moves forward.
