What a relief to find out that Kevin Crow is no longer the acting GM for the Courage. The only two GM candidates that I ever saw mentioned in any articles were Travasos and Buckely Andrews. I wonder what took so long to make the signing of Travasos official?

New GM I am a local business owner in Cary, NC who was given free tickets to two games last year when staff members were handing out tickets to all of the shops in our strip mall. I hope that continues as our owners group was going to purchase a large block of tickets for opening night but instead we'll just wait for the free ones again. I hope that the new GM let's the staff give out free tickets again. The staff members told me that when sales are slow they were told to go give away remining tickets.

Which is why San Jose Earthquakes are in big trouble. Even with poster boy Landon Donovan, the team has had the worst attendance in MLS the last two seasons. Why? Because their attendance figures before turned out to be artificially inflated with up to 40% of the crowd getting in on freebies. Folks got addicted to the free tickets and refuse to pay to see an exciting team. The last two years their attendance figures have been "paid" attendance instead of "turnstile" count. It may look good today, but freebies are a bad, bad, idea.
Free Tickets I would buy tickets but try convincing 30 business owners who all were given free tickets in the same day to not believe that would happen again. I'ts too bad that the Courage had misdirection from the beginning because once you devalue your tickets it becomes a very tricky game.
