half our woes in the middle east that our "allied" arab states are simply those who's government has a great control over its people (an exception would be jordan) most PEOPLE of countries like kuwait hate us be it over israel or US intervention or that the US drastically outstayed its welcome since the gulf war.

and then there is the economic disparity

an example here is saudi araiba where the economic distribution is about

    90% royal family

    9% Bin Laden family inc.

    1% everyone else

need any more proof...may i remind you that our country's greatest threat is a saudi...our country's material ally, that is where we will house our troops in possible iraqui conflict is....

    Saudi Araibia

and for you human rights crybabies in the house, anyone care to delve into the human rights record of the Saudis since they like to bitch and moan about China's human right's record which looks like the ritz carlton compared to human rights in Saudi Arabia.

Worthless ingrates....not that I'm surprised. Maybe we should have let Iraq run over their pathetic little countries military.

Wouldn't that describe 90% of those countries in general?

Our friends are the Kuwaiti Royal Family, not the Kuwaiti people.

I wonder how the Kuwaiti people would feel if Saddam was running their country now.....maybe, god forbid, they could have used their firearm skills on the Iraqi army, instead of relying on the UN (aka, mostly the US) to bail their ungrateful behinds out.

Just putting our Gulf War motivation in perspective. It was obviously about the Saudi/Kuwaiti oil. Gulf War II will have a different motivation, but there's still enough disinformation (I guess "dissembling" is the current phrase being used) going on that it needs to be nipped whenever possible.

And besides - you're wrong. The result is not the same. Liberating a people would breed gratefulness, friendship and loyalty. Liberating their oil for America's consumption helps to breed the quasi-religious enemies we are now fighting.

Isn't Kuwait one of our allies? Sure, they may be our allies because of oil, but aren't we obligated to defend our allies when they get attacked? As for the 2nd Gulf War, I'm not in favor of it, so you're preeching to the choir on that one.

Oh, they weren't liberated? I don't see any Iraqi tanks in their country. Gee, why is that? Those loser quasi-religious enemies would be there regardless of what we did in Kuwait. That's why they are loser quasi-religious enemies.

OK Nate - I suppose we generally agree. But quasi-religious loser enemies don't just pop out of nowhere.

You're right, and even though I don't like bowing down to terrorists and their motivations, I wish we would change our Israel policy for more general reasons. But I'm not sure it would stop all of these guys (although it would probably reduce their numbers).

I don't know why you are using the term "human rights crybabies", unless you've had your moronic head in the sand so long that you think the points you are making are in any way new.

People have been complaining about human rights in this area precisely because of the problems associated with the corrupt governments. Hence, the basic reason why many think that its important to know what would result from invading Iraq.

Smiley predicts: 25 million more ingrates to complain about. Saddam lives in exile in Monte Carlo.
