Report from the Ottawa Citizen states that the Fury have applied for the rights to host the 2004 W-League Finals.

According to someone from the USL... the Fury stand a very good chance of winning the bid. The finals would be played at Keith Harris Stadium on the campus of Carleton University.

    Good news for them.

From the team standpoint, hosting means a guaranteed spot as a semi-final team.

From an organization standpoint, it could be financially draining. Though the league will help out some, the host organization is responsible for the logistics of the traveling teams. Thy can recoup if they can get a great turnout at the gate. But you play with fire there if your team doesn't make it to the finals.

Wonder if Ottawa's artificial turfgrass will be an issue at all.

That's true, but is Harris big enough for a major event like this? What's the attendance max there?
