Apparently, supposedly, perhaps and maybe. Spurs are convinced that Tudor cannot save them from relegation so they’re looking to replace him as soon as. They’re in talks with Dyche. Sometimes, even in Spursy land, there are no words.
Oh dear. That’s ominous, could be really, really bad. Awful even. He might be interviewing for the job as we speak.
Turns out managing organizations worth billions of dollars is indeed a difficult thing to do. Only some trust fund kids could look at him and say, "sheeesh, that looks easy, I could do that."
It's not always that difficult. Just get Alan Weisselberg to fudge all your property valuations and don;t pay many of your debts ...... and bingo ... And then, shoot, as a gratitude from Providence for all your hard work you even DRAW BINGO!!
Maybe Spurs needed to cut loose from that dependence. Take a hit, then accept that it’s not as big a club as that stadium might imply at the moment, and then start restructuring. In my view, Spurs is actually wasting the London premium.
I’ve been saying for years (not that that makes it true), that Spurs are not a real club, that if they were based in Bradford, no one would pay attention to them. They only have significance because they’re a London side; a very good example actually of the London bias of the football press.
They are aiming for De Zerbi as the new manager - presuming surviving the drop. they will be very good and very quickly with him in charge - well for the 2-3 years he likes to stay at a place.
He’s another Conte. Produces in the first season (though that’ll be a stretch for this Spurs side), then argues with the GM/board that he needs more money to buy his type of players is often gone before the end of the second season. Though, I agree, De Zerbi might last 3 seasons.
That bbc article includes this little nugget: For every one pound you receive from broadcasting [in the Champions League], you only get 11p in the [Euro] Conference League. I wonder if anyone at the club is aware of that
The other nugget is that in the five years 2021-2025 , Chelsea achieved three of the four biggest losses in recorded history.
Chelsea have dropped Fernandez from the squad after he made comments about possibly leaving them in the summer. Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior on Enzo Fernandez: "I spoke with Enzo about an hour ago. As a football club, with me as part of the decision, he won't be available for tomorrow's game or Manchester City next Sunday. "It's disappointing for Enzo to speak that way. I have got no bad words to say about him but a line was crossed but a line was crossed in terms of our culture and what we want to build." Last month, after Chelsea's Champions League exit at the hands of Paris St-Germain, Fernandez said he did not know whether he would be at the club next season. "I don't know, there are eight games left and the FA Cup," the 25-year-old said. There's the World Cup and then we'll see." Fernandez later said there had been "no talks" with Real Madrid and added: "Right now I'm focused on Chelsea, we'll see after the World Cup.” However, a more recent interview has led to increased speculation of a big-money move to the Spanish capital. "I’d like to live in Spain, I really like Madrid; it reminds me of Buenos Aires," he replied, when asked where he would love to live if he were to leave London. Players live where they want. I’d live in Madrid. I get by in English, but I’d be more comfortable in Spanish."
About Chelsea: Cucurella made similar comments about moving to Spain (Barca) but he's not dropped apparently. A totally different set of players, under a different manager, but again producing dressing room problems. Must be something in the water down there.
Millwall are currently sitting 2nd in the table in the Championship. Can't imagine that being a fun away trip next season if the get promoted.
