    And Dyche dumped by Forest.

They're now looking for their 4th - FOURTH!! - manager this season.

    God Almighty.

Being Nottm Forest manager is probably the only job more risky than being Liverpool's rb.

But quite lucrative, I’d like to think.

Oh, this is so Spursy. So Spursy. Rumor only.

They want Pochettino. But he’s tied up with the US until after the WC. So assuming they can get him, they need someone to babysit Spurs for the next 5 months or so. And not get them relegated.

The obvious solution to that problem is simple, easy, blatant. Postecoglu!

Just watched the highlights of Aston Villa vs Newcastle. That could be a showcase game on why var is needed.

Or was it refs not adapting? If suddenly we all lost Google Maps, SatNavs and GPS and had to go to hard copy maps, how many hours would be added to trips? Both private and commercial?

The most egregious decisions were all (I think) made by usually VAR-supported crews. Was it that they were so used to the crutch of VAR that they were more compliant/complacent with decisions that needed to be spot on live, forgetting the crutch of VAR? I think it largely shows that refs and linesmen at the top level would all have difficulties stepping down into a non-VAR environment without learning not to rely on VAR.

Beating chelsea to Jacquet and ignoring the immediate need may cost us the CL.

I'm more with S on this one.
In Rio's case (and in the case of Arsenal which had two good goals stolen), that line-o was definitely thinking "I can't let a goal be scored that was offside, so I'll be cautious" knowing they had no VAR support to bail them out. It was a return to the pre-VAR days when the weak kneed were protected for being cautious.

For the Newcastle situation - we really need to change the penalty rule before we keep on giving away certain goals as punishment for hopeful kicks and dribbles.
Why in the world should blocking a cross 17 yards from the center of the goal be rewarded with a PK? Let the offensive team have an unimpeded free kick from the spot of the incident, not a PK.
Only denial of a goalscoring opportunity should result in a PK.

Arsenal, looking over their shoulder again, drop two points with their game going from a comfortable 0-2 up at Wolves to ending 2-2

With a game in hand, they are now just five points ahead of ManCheaty

LFC Poll - With 11 games to go...would you rather have Arsenal win the PL, or see them get caught by Cheaty?

I'd like to see ManC catch them. Then ManC are retroactively docked points for cheating and the season is declared null and void. :D

I don't like Arsenal but then again the only realistic challenge comes from city so unless Villa pulls of a miracle I won't be happy about the pl winner this season

Not needed but definitely it has utility.

I've been harping on this for years.... Let the refs decide subjectively if there was a serious impeding of a goalscoring possibility, whether ball/player going across the face or in a beeline to the target.......

Normally I would say Arsenal, but because of the setpiece goalthuggery and the annoying in your face faces of Gabriel, Raya, trossard and Arteta, I'm rooting for City - although Bernardo's face doesn;t help there either..... So, it's a tie.

Then I remember that Piers Morgan is an Arsenal fan, and that out trumps Liam & Noel Gallagher's disappointment for me.....

Curiously enough, this now puts them under severe pressure against Spurs (of all people and teams that might have a say in things)

le Arses enter that game just one good Micky Van Der Ven run away from having their pants pulled down

This one time i won’t care that it’s city winning the league. Watching Arteta and Co gag away the title with really nothing notable in their way will be chefs kiss

agree completely Chimp. as much as MC are a stain on the game, Arsenal blowing it again would be magnificent. almost nothing likeable about that club at all.

For example - in the closing stages last night, 3 Arsenal players went down injured. They pull that crap game after damn game. It cost them 2 points - love it!

And just like that, the worst team in the league take points from the "best" team. At least it wasn't us....

Jesus shoulder barged a Wolves player out of nowhere knocking him to the ground - AFTER the game ended.

He needs a retroactive red card.
