Someone (I think it was Samarkand) posted the best t-shirt text idea on here a couple years back... it went Great Man Utd # 7s Best...............7 Cantona.........7 Beckham.......7 Ronaldo.........7 ... LIVERPOOL 7!!
With city continuing to spend big it is time for pep to own up to his comments about resigning unless he got a smaller aquad
Regrettably, Frank is going to make Spurs better and also easier to root for. My flip-flopping between London teams is dizzying
Always has been Palace. Selhurst was the first British stadium I saw and loved it. Was so different from the atmosphere in Sevilla and elsewhere in Spain.
WHL was the second Premier League game I attended - so had a little soft spot for them until 6/7 years ago when their fans lost the plot a bit. Just like Arsenal fans during the latter days of Wenger and now Arteta. I also went with a buddy who was a Charlton Athletic fan. Saw Bolo Zenden play against them w/ Middlesboro before joining Liverpool. So had a soft spot for them. Then there’s the US connection with Fulham. I played football with a bunch of West Ham and QPR fans. etc etc etc Never Chelsea despite really liking Zola.
I was always slightly drawn to Spurs as a 2nd team. Between them and Wolves (so, never felt any dislike)
There were a lot of likeable players at Chelsea in the pre-Abramovich era Zola, Vialli, Gullit,Di Matteo, even bizarrely, Dennis Wise...... but Chelsea as a thing. Piss on that
The first lower league and playoff game I attended was Charlton at The Valley. Proper old ground. They lost on pens.
Curbishley was still their manager. It was that long ago Took an age to get there from central London. Easy walk from the tube tho
Despite his 'success' with Charlton at a relatively early age, he never kicked on from there, did he?
I think Curbishley did all he could at Charlton. I lost touch w/ my friend and Charlton were shortly thereafter relegated so lost touch with them too.
One might argue that in working so hard to reinvent himself no one will remember who Alexander-Arnold was… Sure hope for his sake that this new “Trent” era works out for him, just as long as it isn’t against us.
I wanted MC to go all the way to the final before losing. oh well. interesting that Rodri was subbed on, but had to later come off. not fully recovered by the looks of things.
How is he supposed to be? he's just come off a year of PT. he won't be fully fit for the start of the season seeing as their preseason doesn't start for two weeks. So the chavs and citeh are finishing up their CWC campaign now following a round of internationals. Their players have had ZERO break. And been pushed to some extremes in the heat in north america the last several weeks. Meanwhile, we're set to come back later this week, with just about all our transfer business done, on the back of at least 3 weeks rest for everyone in our squad. Don't be surprised to see the three CWC clubs all get off to slow starts in the PL as they are all about to give 2 weeks of rest to their players. Which won't provide anywhere near the rest required of players at this level. And will mess up their fitness levels and ability to have hard preseasons. And their managers have to be thinking "all these players will be tired, and all these players will be having an eye on the World Cup next summer." This is really a chance for us to put down a marker to the rest of the league, and Europe. Pedal to the metal, need to fly out of the gate. Our first 8 matches include the bitters, the scum, arsenal, the chavs, and newcy. Win 4 of those 5, especially the one against arsenal, and we've put daylight between us and everybody else by mid-october.
I like Trent still - but I sincerely do not hope he has success there. I want Barcelona to go on a 6 or 7 year winning run... In case i haven't mentioned it before I FVCKING HATE REAL MADRID
