How did Arsenal's goal on the header stand? There were so many clear fouls on that from literally Martinelli looking back so he could bump Edsson to two other Arsenal guys surrounding him in a fort situation. Which of itself is probably OK but I think you have to at least allow the keeper to try to get to the ball.
a draw in this game would suit just fine. can't see Arsenal sustaining their shape/focus for so long. 2nd half - 91% MC possession.
Or hilarious as we were told last year by Arsenal fans after an own goal by Matip in the Spurs game (which was odd as I'd have expected them to favor us there).
There’s a very decent chance that that late snatched point might be the one that keeps City up this year.
Yes - because apparently we are now rivals again so they were happy to see us drop points. 5 years prior - they would have been upset.
Only two outfield players have played 89+ minutes of a Premier League game and not completed a single pass since @OptaJoe records began:◉ Kai Havertz vs. Man City (0/5)◉ Jurrien Timber vs. Man City (0/6)And it happened in the same game. 🤯 pic.twitter.com/KCKHP3S4RN— Squawka (@Squawka) September 22, 2024 That's pretty interesting.
Everton's takeover appears to be happening. Paul Joyce and Fabrizio Romano have both reported that Friedken Group is buying out the 94.1 % stake from the current owner. I still hope that they get relegated.
Rodri out for the year with an ACL. Sucks for him because it didn’t look like there was much contact.
Sucks for him, sucks for City. Great for the rest of us. Don't think KDB is due back for another few weeks either.
does out for the year = rest of the season, or until January? edit: found it - the season. ahhhhhhhh, shame.
I wonder if that is the last time we see Rodri in play for City. He's 28, with 3 years left on his deal and article this week where it seems the club is trying to get him to the table on an extension (https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5770722/2024/09/17/rodri-new-contract-manchester-city/). With the charges pending and a fair chance they'll be relegated, Pep possibly moving on, I can't see him rushing to sign up again without knowing what the next couple of years look like. Would he really be looking to sign up for 2 years out of the CL?
While I wish he wasn't scoring so many goals and City players are generally unlikeable, I've very much enjoyed Haaland this season, especially all his shithousery yesterday.
I did not That ball to the back of Gabriel’s head was a coward’s move Rodri is one of the seemingly irreplaceable players on Man City With him out… race for the championship is wide open
they'll throw a mountain* of cash at Zubimendi and buy him in January. * see what I did there, eh? eh?
That is their first major injury in a looooong time. Given the way Pep doesn't rotate much, it is quite astonishing it's been so long.
KDB and Haaland missed time last season no? Were those not major injuries? I didn't see the official news on what happened to Rodri.
