Right. If the Rodri replacement wants to know what their role will be when Rodri is back, they should ask Kalvin Phillips.
Michail Antonio is expected to be out for at least a year after the West Ham striker underwent an operation on a broken leg sustained in a horrific car accident on Saturday afternoon.
absolutely. this is why it's so frustrating to see people talk about him as a genius. he's never needed to build a team, or develop young players. and that's not even mentioning the huge number of stories about his use of PEDs earlier in his career. since they've hit the wall, the fact that he's showing signs of serious mental-stability issues makes you wonder if he's terrified that he'll soon be found out as a manager who can only do well if he's allowed to buy top-level finished products. now he's faced with a challenge he may not be able to simply buy his way out of.
totally correct Suss. if he has any sense or cares about his career, he won't go near the place. but they'll throw a fortune at him (above and below the table) so who knows. he might be one of those players who sees football purely as a job and maxing comp is his prime motivation.
so the uk media are drooling themselves silly over Palmer today. I watched that game yesterday and as far as I'm concerned apart from the pens he had absolutely zero impact on the game. hardly touched the ball and did nothing with it when he did. but you'd think he invented the game, the fuss today. nothing new of course.
MU have cancelled their annual staff Christmas party. this comes the day after it's been found that they didn't pay NUFC 2mill to get Ashworth released - as they announced repeatedly at the time - it was actually 5mill. that'll teach the office staff, cafeteria staff, cleaners, groundskeepers etc!
Wolves W Ham 0-0 HT. The possibility exists that both teams can call it a night, go home, take a point a piece and not play the second half. I don’t think anyone would notice and those who did would applaud.
From when I turned it on, the game has been really good. 2-1 to West Ham now. Great finish from Bowen.
I've no clue who the ex-pro co-comm is on fubo but he is as irritating as hell, seems to think he's paid by the word. just stfu and let the game breath man.
if each of their first team squad chipped in one or two thousand quid (a) the staff would love them for it and (b) the players would never notice. if they had a club captain that was anything more than a self-centred crybaby maybe that would happen.
Cancelling a holiday party for staff is such an unserious, petty thing for an organization with that kind of revenue to do. Jim Ratliffe probably has that cash in his couch cushions.
Ratcliffe, the gift that keeps on giving... Ineos joined Mercedes F1 team as a sponsor in 2020, and a 1/3 shareholder in 2022. Last time the Mercedes F1 team won a constructor's title? 2021. Last time they won the driver's title? 2020. Coincidence? I think not.
Dortmund vs Barca 3pm today - game 6 - each on 12pts. -- if one wins they jump to 2nd place behind us. Arsenal vs Monaco 3pm today - game 6 - each on 10pts. -- if one wins they jump into the top 8. we could see 7 teams on 13 points by end of today.
Another day another city loss this is starting to get to a point where questions will be asked about peps contract
I hope the Juve fans don’t start singing “sacked in the morning”. Pep doesn’t like when fans sing “sacked in the morning”.
Pretty sure this week's results in CL mean that Liverpool just need 2 draws from last 2 games to secure 1 seed in knockout stage. So, can beat Lille and send out complete youth squad to PSV. Oh damn. As I type that Barca score. Changes the math.
Oh, and good news is finishing 1 isn't at this point demonstrably better than finishing 2... so yeah, just need 2 draws; if it's Liverpool and Barca going 1-2 in any order, we won't see Barca until the final.
City are becoming what Liverpool were in 22/23. We were coming off a season in which we nearly won the quadruple. In a matter of months, we went from being the best team in the world to a shell of our former selves. A combination of injuries and certain key players losing their legs made us unrecognizable. Maybe the amount of games they have played season on season combined with certain players getting up their in age combined with no Rodri has finally caught up to them.
