Stupidly rushed Romero back and dragusin is not good. They will give up more goals ... but they may score too. cheslki defense is not good and they are fouling like nothing else.
Which is a shame because I’d 100% as a neutral rather watch Spurs play in track meets than watch some tiki taka disciple play for a 1-0 with 79% possession
Unfortunately, Chelsea's scatter shot approach of buying all the young stars - and not worrying about any losses - is starting to pay off. Guess that Maresca is a decent enough manager (Pep disciple).
unless they've got someone lined up already, it may take them until after our game which will benefit any new guy as well. next games for them: Rangers a (UEFA) Soton a MU h LFC h NF a Wolves h
LOL Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Their penalties were poor from our behalf. We didn't need to make those challenges and it was hard for us to claw it back. "I think sometimes when you are in this position we are, you are desperate to do the right thing. You probably need a calmer approach. The guys are desperate to do the right thing and unfortunately it cost us." On the approach throughout the game: "It was good enough to get us ahead in the game so I am not sure why we should change our approach. It was a game of big moments. If we score at 2-2 and go 3-2 ahead then the pressure is on them and they have to open up like we did when we conceded. But like I said, disappointing that we let them get the advantage in a way that was self-inflicted." On Cristian Romero's injury: "He had a knock on his toe and today was his quad so it's quite different. With Romero going down, who we thought would play 90 comfortably, made it a bit more challenging. Hopefully Micky will be OK." On improving in the coming weeks: "You have no alternative and have to keep going. There is no other path we can take and we just have to keep showing up. The bit that was disappointing was that we showed the kind of team we can be, because they are a top side and we had the better of them but then unfortunately we are dealing with major disruptions. We have to keep persevering. "We have got to see what the health of the squad is. We are a bit thin and have some long term ones. Between now and January there are some big games."
Even more effective ........ make the rule that if the linesman deems the ball to have been improperly placed, the corner automatically becomes a goal kick. Guaranteed to eradicate that nonsense overnight.
It’s amazing that the statement rings true regardless of whether they win or lose They are useless to everybody, including themselves
Arsenal not over-reliant on corners, you say? https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/crk0enddllyo Saliba tapped home the equaliser. It was the 23rd goal that Arsenal had scored from a corner kick since the start of last season - more than any other side in Europe's biggest leagues. Arsenal had 39 minutes plus added time to find a winner but, in truth, they rarely threatened Fulham's goal from open play. The Gunners produced an Expected Goals (xG) of 2.0 during the game at Craven Cottage, meaning they could have reasonably expected to have scored twice from the chances they created. But a look at the Gunners' xG from open play - which excludes chances created from free-kicks and corners - tells a slightly different story. At Fulham, the Gunners accumulated an xG of just 0.3 from open play - which is their second lowest this season behind the 0.18 they managed during the 2-2 draw against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in September. Over the course of the season, Arsenal's open play xG is 15.9 from their 15 Premier League matches - which would rank them 10th in the league. In those 15 matches, the Gunners have recorded an open play xG of 1.0 or below 10 times.
Wow. What a weekend. City and Arsenal seem to be going out of their way to make Chelsea look like contenders... really big missed opportunity for them both.
Love how Guardiola is now saying solution “will take a long time” for Man City to get better… Seems like maybe the first time he’s faced with a problem that he can’t buy his way out of. In other reports, he’s apparently decided that he desperately needs a replacement for Rodri - you know, because he’s such a genius tactician that he reportedly wants to buy Zubimendi as a straight replacement. That is until Rodri recovers from his injury, then what will Zubimendi do? Probably sit on the bench waiting for garbage minutes or Rodri’s next injury…
