Saw a story that Chelsea bid £14m on some player. The standing bid was £12m. £14m did the job, player went to Chelsea. When the selling club pointed out that £13m would probably have gotten the job done, Boehly said he couldn’t do that because 13 is unlucky. Let's spend an extra £1m, because really what’s £1m anyway?, in case 13 is unlucky. Boehly and his mates are welcome to each other.
The financials haven't been great. We've always operated on a budget, but Sevilla is a club without any real base of support outside of Sevilla. Even all the trophies won over the last 15 years haven't really given us any kind of wider support within Spain let alone the rest of the world. So we've not expanded our commercial activities and increased revenue despite the incessant escalation in costs. We've gone through several managers who weren't up to snuff after a 20 year run of managers who enhanced their reputations. We've operated much like Brighton in the transfer window - buy low, sell high. Except those we've been buying haven't been all that great. And we've not been making a bunch of money on our sales. And the last two points has everything to do with Monchi not being around. How do you replace the guy who was the architect of everything? Turns out, you can't.
Don;t know whether or not it's apocryphal but there's an old story about Elvis needing to gift 13 of his employees/friends whom he felt he owed a nice present on eyear - so he bought 'em 13 Cadillacs. However, not wanting to court bad luck, he bought a 14th car and handed the keys to the first person passing by outside....
CRAZY RED CARD from the depths of Italian football. 🤯Subbiano coach Alessio Guidotti enters pitch to stop an attack, in 6th-tier game which finished 0-0. 🟥May you start this week with the unabashed confidence of this man claiming innocence after 😅pic.twitter.com/vkAy73cwzF— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) September 9, 2024
Curiously enough, it's only the 2nd craziest attempted tackle in that clip. The first second.... jeez....
Could be ligament damage there that would be devestating for Arsenal. According to Norwegian press he was in serious pain after the match and is going to have an MR on it when back in London.
With the NLD and City both away up next for them, even missing a couple weeks means they could be 8 points behind the pace after those games. As we know all to well keeping pace with City wears on you. Will be a significant test of their mentality.
more good news for the Bitters ... not Uzbek oligarch Alisher Usmanov has taken legal action against a company owned by Everton owner Farhad Moshiri, creating a complicating factor in the club’s already difficult takeover process.
Woof - not great for Utd. It’s a wonder how teams can claim that high amount of ‘add backs’. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c07e42ryd0po
Definitely not adding back anything for stadium improvement... I'll take a look at the accounts in the next couple of days and see where all this money is going...

It's hilarious how he just went on two minutes straight. It actually did a pretty good job of not really repeating himself over and over and over again.
Absolutely. Unbelievable rant. "What do you want to talk about, my ********ing eyebrows?" "What have you cooked, Salmonella? " Oh I'm dying.
