HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA for the love of God .... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0rwy2z7d2eo Chelsea have been cleared by the Premier League for the sale of two hotels to a sister company to keep them compliant with profit and sustainability rules (PSR). The Blues published their accounts in April, revealing the sale of the Millennium and Copthorne hotels next to Stamford Bridge for £76.5m in an effort to help them avoid a potential £166.4m loss, reducing it to an allowable £89.9m for the financial year. The hotels changed ownership from Chelsea FC Holdings Ltd to BlueCo 22 Properties Ltd, two companies under the control of the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership. The sales have since been ratified by the Premier League under what is termed a 'fair market valuation' under the league's associated-party transaction rules. Whether the £76.5m value has been changed is unclear but Chelsea have maintained their confidence in adhering to PSR rules that permitted clubs to have a maximum of £105m in losses over a three-year period as certain costs for infrastructure, academy and women's football are allowed to be deducted. Such transactions are not allowed in Uefa competitions, with Chelsea back in Europe in the Conference League this season, and in the English Football League after they closed the loophole in 2021, but the Premier League opted against following suit. The Premier League remains open to closing the loophole through a future vote. An attempt to ban such transactions within the league was most recently attempted by Premier League members in June but only a reported 11 clubs supported the idea, with a minimum of 14 needed required to vote through a change to the regulations. Senior staff within Chelsea and the controlling Clearlake Capital ownership believe they will be compliant with financial rules for the 2024-25 season. The club is set to earn significant financial reward for taking part in the Club World Cup next summer.
Everton are considering re-appointing David Moyes as manager - 11 years after the Scot left Goodison Park to take charge of Manchester United. (Football Insider)
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-risk-manchester-united-game-model-style-play Erik ten Hag’s game model has to start impressing Manchester United’s Ineos-led football department or he is in danger of being removed, with the manager’s style of play so far this season viewed as underwhelming. United entered the international break having won once and lost twice in the Premier League in a disappointing start. There is recognition inside the club that Ten Hag has been undermined by injuries and needs time to integrate his five summer signings, but also serious concern regarding how he sets up the side. The Dutchman’s game model is being scrutinised by United’s football department, which is overseen by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and led by Dan Ashworth, the sporting director, and Jason Wilcox, the technical director. A major part of Wilcox’s role is to monitor how the first team play. United’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday came in a display that featured Ten Hag’s team being vulnerable in midfield and defence, as they were in a 2-1 defeat at Brighton. The 1-0 victory over Fulham in the opening game also failed to convince and derived from a late Joshua Zirzkee goal, United again lacking control.
Umm, maybe late to this party but did am I the only one who didn't know that Osimen went to freaking Galatasaray??? how the hell does something like that happen
So Xabi has gotten it out of the way and lost early this season. Madrid, despite their star studded lineup, is already four points behind the train wreck barca, who are somehow playing well in spite of the off field issues. I’m officially worried about Sevilla this year. 4 teams are tied at the top of the Serie A table - but Milan remains winless. PSG look much more balanced and are capable of winning Ligue Un by a record margin this year.
I think its probably too early to tell how things will shape up .Give it about 10 games into the season.
The PSG is a bit of a forecast, I'll give you that. But everyone of those players should be saying "let's show everyone what we can do, let's cruise to a title by 30 points" where in Mbappe's final two years they only won by 6 and 1 point (IIRC). And, let's face it, they should win by a near record margin every year. As a massive Sevilla fan, we're in a bit of trouble. The outgoings have been superior to the incomings and while Pimi had a couple decent seasons with Las Palmas, he's not in the same class of manager we've previously had. At least he's got experience with relegation battles. Who knows what will happen in Italy - it is really wide open over there at the minute. And I'll go out on a massive limb here - Germany will likely see bayern return for another 7 or 8 year streak at the top, even with Alonso hanging around another year.
What happened at Sevilla? For years they were 4th club in Spain and from the outside seemed to be a pretty well run club. Is it just a run of bad transfer windows or is there something more systematic going on?
Madrid are (without any reasonable non-affiliated viewer's <and by affiliated, I mean, part of the press who make column inches and talking-head space-filler by forgetting how absurdly bad they have been when they get to a CL final> input ) not the most over-rated, over-hyped, over-done side of chancers this side of the Margaret Thatcher Indigents' Appreciation Society. Which is to say - program in that input and they are the most, etc, etc, etc.....
Better than Diaz my a$$ Trent shoulda had 2 assists already and Kelleher with 2 excellent saves Yes - I watch Nations League
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...oehly-behdad-eghbali-relationship-breaks-down Chelsea already imploding
what I find weird, and slightly worrying, is that each of them seem to believe their Chelsea "business model" is financially promising enough that they want to double down on it.
