and Russia are out, still QF run is pretty good run for them and very close to making the SF. now we get Croatia vs England, Croatia's best standing since 1998 WC where they reached the SF. imagine ending up with a Croatia vs Belgium final, lol.
My nightmare would be England vs. Belgium with England winning. Can you imagine the pressure the players are on during a PK SO? If I took one I would probably shank it off my foot and the ball would slowly dribble to the goal line, not even crossing it.
That Zaza penalty was amazing, what an epic fail. Even in such a nervous moment it made me lol. Same lol, have a lot of respect for these guys who stay so cool, I would be shaking like crazy.
Croatia gets my respect as this will be their veteran core's last WC chance; Modric, Mandzukic, dude with ponytail etc
True, props to him for fighting through the pain in extra time after what looked to be a hamstring injury

Okay so I commented objectively about England’s performances in the England thread and some of them got mad I’ve said it before, but winning the WC won’t be good for their ego I’m not an England hater but I guess you can’t blame me for not liking the team considering their performances the last tournaments and their overrated players...? Although this doesn’t really apply much for this WC squad But they haven’t really impressed me either and that opinion was slaughtered by someone, thinking I’m a Germany fan bashing England because it’s England when I’m 100% neutral in their rivalry, especially when I’m not even a German myself and have no reason to dislike England in any ways
Whatever happens after this World Cup with England is irrelevant, let them enjoy their moment. I'm rooting for them to go all the way.
Unfortunately you get deluded douches amongst most countries fan bases and England are no different, however I would say on the whole a lot of fans over here are just really enjoying having a team to be proud of for the first time in years. Many accept this isn't the most talented team ever but it has shown great spirit and commitment and Southgate, who is a likeable guy, has made the team much more relaxed and relatable. The whole "It's Coming Home" thing is more tongue in cheek then arrogant, although the further the team has got the more the excitement in the country has grown. The Croatia match is going to be very tough, and obviously whoever goes through will be underdogs in the final as France and Belgium have more quality, however after so many years of abject failure just having the chance of getting to a final feels pretty special.
this WC has been France's to lose for awhile as they make their 2nd consecutive final. And honestly they should have won EC16 vs Portugal. meanwhile, Belgium's Golden Generation still comes empty handed but better than previous tournaments. Although easy GS and barely going through vs Japan.
