I saw Lockjaw say we could have one of these threads in a different thread so I thought it would be a good idea to have one, others may not. I think it might be good to keep track of them given that there are multiple teams in contention for La Liga and we could obviously talk about up and coming Champions League opponents.

    Good thread.

Valencia has been doing so well. I am more concerned about them than Seville.

Sebastian Deisler has announced retirement. For the Germans he was alike to Zidane, Raul and Totti for their respective countries.

Bayern are a little down this year ... 3 points behind Bremen and Schalke who are joint on top.

We SHOULD and WILL be able to break them down :)

Looks like we have the toughest game of all top4 teams in la Liga although Celta wont make it easy for Barca and neither will Betis for Valencia.

I think Celta v Barca's result will depend on where it is played. If away from Camp Nou, I think they can be caught.

They will @ Camp Nou. The last game was played in Vigo and ended 3-3 or 3-2 for barca dont remember but it was one of those 2 results for sure. Eto'o played a hell of a match that game.

^ To be fair that is an ugly (and very intentional) elbow to the face he just took.

I can't understand why some people say that Spanish referees are too trigger happy, yet in Italy dirty moves like Galante's go unpunished while Totti has to leave the pitch, pay a fine and sit out a game.

    I agree Laudrup.

Galante purposely elbowed Totti, after hard fouling a guy and he wasn't even spoken too. However Totti pushed a memeber of the coaching staff so he isn't exactly untouchable.

He didn't do anything to warrant a red though.

    Watching this game right now.

Van Bommel is one hell of a dirty player, what a vicious and unnecessary tackle!
Also people complain about the Refs in Spain but the guy referring this match is just horrible.

Dortmund 1 v 0 FC Bayern GOAL: Alexander Frei with a header.

Frei beat the small Philip Lahm and scored a excellent header, Old man Kahn did not even move.

22 minutes played: Bayern have not had a single shot on goal so far. They seem very slow are not able to build up any attack against a nervous Dortmund defence.

Dortmund 1 v 1 FC Bayern GOAL: Daniel Van Buyten scores a accident goal.

Frei fouls Van Bommel 30m outside the box. Sweinsteiger takes the freekick and finds Daniel Van Buyten, The ball just lands at his feet 2m from goal.

This was Bayern only chance of the match. A decent defence would not have allowed such a goal.

Van Bommel was voted for the 11 with the least fair play sense of last season.

He was in good company with karate kalid(boulahrouz), elbow heinze, and gravesinho. :D

Dortmund 1 v 2 FC Bayern GOAL: Roy Makaay scores a tap in goal by beating 2 defenders.

Salihamidžić tries to find Makaay with along ball but the defender intercepts him but somehow manages to lose the ball to Makaay who is again intercepted by another defender but he too is exteremly clumsy with ball and just hands it to Makaay who just taps it in.

Again, a goal a decent defence would never have allowed.-

I think he was sent off for honouring Galante's mother well within the ref's earshot (if my Italian lip-reading is up to par, which it might not). I'm not against trash talk on principle but if you're going to do it make sure the ref isn't 7 yards away.
