If you read the article, you would have noticed that Del Bosque did not say anything about Real Madrid. He was merely praising Barcelona, which he is entitled to. Does being a former Real Madrid manager take away your right to praise other teams?

I'd still be a bit bitter if I was del Bosque, despite the change in regime... that said, it's already been mentioned that he said nothing about Real in the article.

Re: Kill 'em All - Other Teams [R]

"I am angry, Hamburg SV just refused [to take the offer].This is arrogant. They destroyed my dream."

A year ago, van der Vaart and the people of HSV had a meeting about the proceedings in case the Club receives an offer from Spain.

"This is no surprise[that a team made an offer].They told me that they would sit down and talk about any interesting offer from Spain."

"My grandparents are living in Valencia, they are 80 years old and the only thing they wish for is that they see me play in Valencia at least once.I hope Valencia fights for me till the end and Hamburg gets enough money so that everybody is happy."

Only Uwe Seeler agrees with Rafael:
"He said what his dream is from the moment he joined HSV.I think if he leaves the Club, it will be a clean transfer, with no complaints."

There's a lot more about this, i will post it later after lunch. :D

I won't want him to go to Valencia for footballing reasons. Joaquin, Silva, Zigic, Villa and VDV in the same team  . Hopefully they all crash and burn but it'd be unlikely. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out, but needless to say, now its looking very likely he'll be playing in Spain next season because since its his family who are so adamant.

Obviously the human in me wants him to get this move :) .

*Gets popcorn and waits for the remaining part :D*

Re: Kill 'em All - Other Teams [R]

Beiersdofer(HSV director) said "It's not even in consideration to sell Rafael. This includes the compete transfer period[this season], Rafael isn't for sale."

In a personal meeting between van der Vaart and Beiersdorfer on Monday, all hell broke loose."Didi[Dietmar Beiersdorfer] was very clear[about his position], but so was i", said van der Vaart.

HSV chairman Horst Becker said "It can't be that we sell every player that wants to leave.Bayern has shown with the Owen Hargreaves case, that you could also wait.", on the German sports channel DSF.

The HSV coach said that it would be important for van der Vaart to explain the situation to his team mates in training, while fellow Dutch players de Jong and Mathijsen said they would do anything to keep him in Hamburg.

The last words from van der Vaart, where "if i stay, i will give my best".
Although the report...suggests that van der Vaart could suddenly get "injured", like Boulahrouz, who told his coach that he got injured while warming up for the CL qualifier against Osasuna. What followed was Kahlid Boulahrouz moving from Hamburg to Chelsea.

That's basically it for today.Yesterday van der Vaart said it would cause him pain to stay in Hamburg, let's see how long this goes before the situation becomes uncontrollable.

But for Van der Vaart to move to Valencia could possible hinder Silva's progress unless he plays as a CM or winger.

    -------------Villa-----------
    -----------Silva-------------
    -Gavilian-VdV-Albelda-Joaquin

    Baraja can switch for Albelda.
    Vicente for Gavilian when fit.

    Will Gavilian start? Why not
    -----------------------Zigic
    -------------Villa
    ----------------------------------------------
    Silva-----------------------------------Joaquín
    ----------------vdv
    ----------------------Albelda

I doubt Valencia will pay €20M for Zigic and not play him.

Vicente is back for Valencia and already scoring :D 1-0 against Elfsborg.

It's a shame he's been injured so much, because he is one of the best.

I couldnt agree more. When fit he is a nightmare for defenders but i guess that those nightmares are very rare due to him being injured most of the time.

So many injuries might even force him to retire early dont you think?

    Other CL results:

    Lazio - Dinamo Bucarest 1-1 = 2nd half

    Benfica - FC Kopenhagen 1-1 = 2nd half

Valencia doing really good judging by the radio cast.

Benfica didn't play Nelson today, who is rumoured to be a possible replacement for Alves in Sevilla. Adu made his debut in the game as well. Either he's VERY hyped or it's VERYeasy to be considered a wonderkid in MLS. Anyway, he had a very quiet debut. It'll be interesting what he can do when he settles in. Benfica won the game 2-1 on two longshots by Rui Costa by the way.

Is Mata hurting he chose Valencia or what? He could have been the sub for the left at Madrid this season, and now he's behind Vicente :D Silva and Gavilan.

Agreed. It is a shame, I remember him the season Valencia won the double. He absolutely amazing; easily one of the best wingers in the world.

It was upped recently. I believe it was €40M before. Then we showed interest (atleast according to his agent :)) and he got himself a new deal, which of course included an increased clause. Interesting, with the €40M-figure, who would like better, Silva or Robben?
