Yeah, Musovski has been solid from the get go. Not sure why everyone lets him get away. Seattle won’t be so stupid.
Note that the Sounders are the first team to pay Musovski a real (i.e. significantly above minimum-ish) salary. And that looked like a shaky decision in 2024 when he managed only 1 goal! It's probably fair to say that Preston Judd's standing is approximately where Musovski was a few years ago - a useful, workhorse backup striker who will eat some minutes and pitch in, but doesn't have the finishing resume to justify real money in a tightly salary-capped system. We've seen enough to know he's a good footballer, and he even averages a goal contribution every 90 minutes, but would you be comfortable allocating $500k to him?
As I mentioned Musovski is averaging a goal every 164 minutes in MLS, which is better than Wondo. I think he is a little bit like Wondo in that he never got a chance to be the regular striker. And if he did, we might be surprised at what happens. He barely played in 2024 - 500 minutes. And IMO, he is easily a better striker / finisher than Judd (goal every 210 minutes, even with that gift from last Saturday). Watch his 2nd goal last night at about :32, for example.
Musovski is an elite striker. It’s size and speed that gets him downgraded. He doesn’t look the part of a pro athlete. The Wondo comparison is far more apt than the Judd comparison. And it’s hilarious to think LAFC was concerned about money.
Wondo, started his goal scoring prowess at 27. He was a journeyman at best until that point. He could have easily given up the game in early 2010 and then he exploded, He was a fluke or even a freak of nature but I doubt we will see another WONDO in the next 20-30 years.
Well, when you have excellent productivity, it begs the question - maybe he should get more minutes? I do think it's potentially a Wondo kind of parallel though Wondo had his breakthrough when he was 27. Musovski's 29. But like with Wondo, Musovski's always taken a back seat to the more "shiny object" strikers. "Yeah, he's fine as a backup but we got this DP from Latin America, and..." It'll be interesting to see if next year Seattle says, hey, you know, maybe we should just make this guy our regular starting striker, so that he has 30 starts instead of 10-15. That's what 2010 was for Wondo, and he broke out for 18 goals and a Golden Boot. Alexi Lalas quite condescendingly called it Wondo's "magic moment". Well it wasn't his "magic moment". It was just who he was, revealed.
Ethan Horvath is an instant hero at Sheffield Wednesday after leading the Owls past Leeds United in the second round of the Carabao Cup Watch (): Sheffield Wednesday vs. Leeds United (Extended Highlights)
My Leeds fan hubby watched the game in despair but said Ethan Horvath was amazing. On top of many other saves, Horvath saved 2 of 3 PKs in the shootout.

Little (not so little) DeRo scored this goal against the Gals last night and did his dad's zombie / chicken dance things.
💣🚨 BREAKING: Benjamin Cremaschi will join Parma on loan with an option to buy set at €4.5M. Cremaschi will conduct medical examinations in the United States before traveling to begin his new adventure. 🟡🔵🇺🇸[🌕: @DiMarzio] pic.twitter.com/aoT2qXMc62— USMNT Otaku 🇺🇸 (@USMNTOtaku) August 31, 2025
So the LA Gals won the Leagues Cup third place game and as one of the top three clubs in the tournament, they will qualify automatically for the next CONCACAF Champions Cup. Therefore, even if they tank the rest of the season and get the wooden spoon, their season will have been a positive. Those Gals are incredibly lucky aren't they?
Wow, Seattle beat Miami 3-0 with a bunch of Next-Pro players like little DeRo, Ragen, Rothrock, Minoungou, former Stanford GK Andrew Thomas, Baker-Whiting, etc., while missing players like Jordan Morris, The Moose, Rusnak, "Bouhou" etc. And then postgame, Miami comes after Seattle in a brawl, with Suarez spitting on a Seattle staff member, after having Vargas in a headlock and Busquets throwing a right hand punch at Vargas, etc. Unbelievable. As the broadcasters said, Miami looked in the mirror and didn't like what they saw (losers). https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/com...p&utm_name=ioscss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1
DeRo Jr. was born in San Jose. I recall running into his dad with his little son in Campbell and that kid was running all day. It’s hard to believe so many years have passed.
They interviewed little DeRo with DeRo and mama DeRo after the game. DeRo was so proud. They asked them how they're gonna celebrate and DeRo said "We're gonna shake and bake all night", and then they went off and did DeRo's dance. Classic.
How long will it be before Miami makes excuses and starts complaining about the artifical turf at Lumen Field? In other news.... Leverkusen sack Erik ten Hag after two league matches

9 major trophies for Seattle since they joined the league in 2009… …SJ still looking for there first ever playoff game at PPP since the place opened 10 years ago. Looks like it won’t be this year. Everything up in the air in SJ, team for sale, surprise, surprise, there will be no Quakes academy at the fairgrounds… …but hopefully we won’t win the spoon this year, soooo…progress?
Yeah, I imagine that Don Graber will feign sharp disapproval while secretly digging it. Oh that's terrible, hey look the players care about my cash grab tournament, and this will be all over social media!
