I didn't complain about his salary, or his decamping to Greece. It was the tanking of games I objected to.

Many people complained online about all the money Almeyds was making.

Maybe not on this forum but in many other ones, there were countless posts about how much Matias was getting paid.

Also , Fioranelli was handsomely paid as well and lived high in Menlo Park without accomplishing anything.

The fans were very much in the right.

The Quakes could have used that money on buying 2-3 better or good players.

Not that it matters, Almeyda was the highest paid coach in MLS during his time here. If you have him on facebook and he mentioned it years ago.

He said being the highest paid coach in a young league is a great responsibility.

Seems like a lifetime ago when I last saw Bentekkers play, even though he won’t be fondly remembered in the minds of is fans, I’ll always have that scissor kick goal at old trafford.

So what happens after the 19th October? You have your winter break?

Yep, winter break, get ready to suck again next year. It’s an unfortunate situation here.

So Matias Almeyda, was the highest paid coach in MLS , produced nothing , tanked seasons wanting to get fired in order to get paid while living high on the hog and we aren't allowed to talk or complain about him or his salary?

Anywhere else in the world he will have been roasted and here he is revered and not even mentioned.

I don't think I've ever heard of anything so ridiculous since I've become a fan of the game 50 years ago!

    Give me a break!

Who said we can’t talk or complain about the great Matias Almeyda?

His name comes up in this forum on most days, seems like. We can’t quit the guy.

Love him or hate him, he made quite an impression around here.

Supposedly according to some, we aren't allowed to talk about or question coaches’ salaries.

For what we paid him, we could have bought at least 2-3 , good DP’s!

Of course anyone is free to talk about coaching salaries. But also we are free to not care very much.

So, we shouldn't care about the owner, coach, GM or the players so who or what exactly are we as fans supposed to care about after 11 consecutive losing seasons?

I care about all of that, but as for the salaries I only care about that for the players because of the salary cap. There's no salary cap for owner, coach, or GM. If someone is "overpaid" in the front office I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

No one said we are supposed to lose sleep over it.

These people however, are directly responsible for this team and they are the ones who are picking these loser players so what exactly are they doing and shouldn't they be held accountable for their jobs?

Of course we should be scrutinizing not only their salaries but everything they do with this team!

It undercuts the narrative that Fisher is cheap.

He is cheap, but he does spend occasionally. And doesn’t get rewarded for it. Curse of Matias.

Not to mention the Curse of Hernán. I like Hernán well enough, but Fish is going to be looking at it like I paid nearly 1/2 again as much as the total roster spend on one guy and it didn't really move the needle. Don't come back here with another one of those requests.

You should apply for your FIFA player agents license. I started the process, and it became too tedious and with everyone thinking they can do it, it dilutes everything. US Soccer Agents are the worst. Wondolowski represented himself with the advocacy of his mother. Zach Thornton used his mother as his agent/rep his entire career, and she did a damn good job, so good, she represented his real life friends Ante Razov, Richie Kotschau, Chris Snitko and CJ Brown during their playing careers too.

A nephew of mine used Darío Sala and my cousin used Stefani Miglioranzi.

This was a whle back and I'm not sure if they are better now but they were both pretty much worthless as player agents at the time.

Once again, I care about how well they are doing their jobs. I don't care about what salaries they are making. That is a black box to me - it has nothing to do with how well they are doing their job.

Yes, but they are tied together.

Just like anyone else in the workforce, they must be held accountable for the work you do.

Professional sports franchises are scrutinized even more so.

This happens in every pro team around the world with the exception of MLS which for some reason has this complacency thing going on.

I don’t' get it, if you aren’t doing the job, you get fired!

To sum it up, they are NOT doing their job!

Of course they should be held accountable, but they should be held accountable regardless of how much money they make. I want a good GM / coach. I don't care how much money they make. If a bad coach is making bad money, I'm not going to be OK with it because he's not getting paid much anyway.

    How can you not care?

We have a strict salary league wide cap in place, crazy mixed up rules, a commissioner who favors some teams over others, a cheap arse owner who won't spend , 11 consecutive losing seasons , 8 coaches , 3 GM's but you are ok if these loser admins are making bank?

How can anyone be ok with this crap show!

Of course, they should be held accountable for their jobs , salaries and of course we as fans should hold them responsible!

Aren’t the Seattle Sounders fans directly involved in the hiring and firing of their GM?

So why can’t Quakes fans do this?

I don't get the reasoning and after over a decade of misery, I for one am sick of this crap and I think most Quakes fans feel the same way.

Once again, I care about player salaries because of the cap. There is no cap on GM / coach / owner salaries. I only care about how well they are doing their jobs.

As Coaching Staff and Administration have absolutely nothing to do with Salary Cap and roster allotment pay checks.
