ATL finally got Bocanegra to leave. I assume Garth Lagerway gave him a big shove. I hope no one gets the idea to bring Carlos here
Isn’t ATL still hosting a boisterous atmosphere even with a poor record? Apparently Lagerway made a quote that indicates ATL is now starting over. I’m sure they will be back in the top tier soon. From the TSS Discord: The one other note I would add is this quote from Garth on local radio recently: "It's been 18 months since I've been here, we tried to salvage what we could from what came before but ultimately we had to liquidate everything" “What came before” is a roster built by Bocanegra
It’s the same old story. Easy to start out in the league, hard to maintain over a long period of time. Will the fans still be interested when you have some rough years and the new car smell wears out and you’re no longer on 3rd base where you started? And then try being an original franchise where you were disparaged as a hokey league at the start, and the product is stale in the market, you’ve already been relocated once, and you are rarely good.
When I think hardcore sports fans, I definitely think of fans of Atlanta pro sports. Especially hockey. Legendary.
I'd say come next year Atlanta with the money they spend under Garth and new coach plus their 2 new DP's and under 22 positions filled will be fighting for the SS and/or MLS cup....

Why are little kids in Florida more skilled than the Quakes Florida 🇺🇲 ⚽ pic.twitter.com/zB8Y7aVWWX— MotherSoccer (@MotherSoccerNL) September 3, 2024
The only problem with that is every one of those kids probably had to pay-to-play to get to the point where they were on that field
This story just showed up in the Athletic, in case you didn't know that being a Quakes fan isn't as bad as it gets. 🇸🇲 SAN MARINO WIN A GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 20+ YEARS & A COMPETITIVE MATCH FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!!History is made as the worst team in the FIFA rankings (210th) finally end the longest winless run in international football history (140 games dating back to April 2004)!!! pic.twitter.com/xbB3M2WQUE— The Sweeper (@SweeperPod) September 5, 2024
Wayne Rooney back at Old Trafford in a Manchester United shirt for their legends match vs. Celtic. He scored the game's opening goal
Are u sure that is Rooney? Ideal model for a Soccer Santa Claus. Also interesting that his transplant is not greying.
Sadly, that is in fact Wayne Rooney and that is what players look like when they quit playing , start drinking and eating , not to mention getting fired from 3 coaching jobs in only 4 years’ time.
If you want to go according to MLS trophies, they at least deserve their own thread. To think Don Garber wanted to move the leagues flagship franchise!
