The ball was never stopped or placed correctly on the first kick. Should not have been called a PK... should have been a redo.

Looks like the the era of relying on the Academy are over in Philadelphia.

Kai needs to come over and play for the Quakes if he thinks he needs to complain about Philly not having the players to win. Philadelphia, in the last 5 years, has finished 1st twice, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. So they've had their first real rough patch in what, 6 years, and the sky is falling. Come over here Kai, we'll show you what a falling sky looks like! Also, I'm sure his teammates, especially the guys getting a few starts because of guys being out on intl duty or whatever, really appreciate being told by their teammate that they're crap.

Did Flo also express something similar in one of the seasons he played for us?

Yes he did - 2018, and maybe he was right, but I didn't like it. I know a lot of fans are happy about that sort of thing because "he's speaking the truth!!" but I don't think it's good for the locker room. And you could have those conversations privately with the people who actually have the ability to address the problem rather than to essentially throw your teammates under the bus publicly.

And yet they have nothing to show for. I get it, we'd be over the moon with a run like that but for actual professionals silverware it's all that really matters.
No one will remember that the Union finished in those spots if they got nothing to show for. It's little league participation mentality. I'd want to win something also after coming so close yr after yr selling players for good $$$ and not reinvesting it back to the team to get over the hump of almost there but not really.

SS in 2020, multiple 1st place finishes. The “silverware”, other than SS - that’s just tournament stuff that’s largely crap shoot. I’m more interested in sustained success in league play. That’s the true measure of team quality. Your mileage may vary.

SS was made up by the fans. Internationally doesn't even show up when they talk about MLS teams. It's MLS cup (open cup, leagues cup etc ) or nothing.
    Agree to disagree.

Eh SS is one of those debatable things of relevance. That SS trophy isn't a Fifa recognized trophy and it isn't even acknowledged world wide when discussing MLS. One one of the soccer talk shows that does cover some MLS never ever have mentioned SS. Only MLS Cup and Open Cup and the Concacaf Champions League.

No one cares who won the SS in 1996 (Tampa BTW). It doesn't measure any success because Tampa was trash from 97-Death Day.

But isn't winning the SS equivalent to wining say the title in the EPL, and MLS Cup is just a tournament?

FIFA recognition? Is that like a UN resolution?
