From Wikipedia based on the 2010 census. The most significant differences are a far greater % of African-Americans in LA (though relatively equal % if you compare LA to the Bay Area as a whole) and double the % of Latinx as SCC, but far fewer Asians. Since African-American/Latinx have been hardest hit by the pandemic, that may explain the differences between the two counties. The racial makeup of Los Angeles County was 4,936,599 (50.3%) White, 856,874 (8.7%) African American, 72,828 (0.7%) Native American, 1,346,865 (13.7%) Asian (4.0% Chinese, 3.3% Filipino, 2.2% Korean, 1.0% Japanese, 0.9% Vietnamese, 0.8% Indian, 0.3% Cambodian, 0.3% Thai, 0.1% Pakistani), 26,094 (0.3%) Pacific Islander (0.1% Samoan), 2,140,632 (21.8%) from other races, and 438,713 (4.5%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino residents of any race numbered 4,687,889 (47.7%); 35.8% of Los Angeles County's population was of Mexican ancestry; 3.7% Salvadoran, and 2.2% Guatemalan heritage, Santa Clara County had a population of 1,781,642. The ethnic makeup of Santa Clara County was 836,616 (47.0%) White, 46,428 (2.6%) African American, 12,960 (0.7%) Native American, 570,524 (32.0%) Asian, 7,060 (0.4%) Pacific Islander, 220,806 (12.4%) from other races, and 87,248 (4.9%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 479,210 persons (26.9%) of the population.
This manipulation of pro-rel in the EFL is mind-blowing A thread: How Wigan Athletic have been victim to one of the greatest sporting scandals of all time.— mark 🇸🇱 (@marksparko) July 3, 2020
Here is the story in a more digestible form than twitter. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53261368
Will LA or NY make a play for Messi? How about Seattle or Colorado? Football agents ‘dreaming of Messi and Ronaldo partnership’ at Juventus after Barcelona ace’s quit hint Messi leaving Barcelona? It's Bartomeu who's now facing an early exit Lionel Messi to force Barcelona President’s early exit
Watching the MLS is Back Tournament on ESPN at the Wide World of Sports Complex. It doesn’t look like a grass field as it’s too green but it doesn’t say online if it’s turf or sod. Anyone know?
Watched the last 40 minutes of the RB/Atl match and I’m watching Cus/Cin game. This is weird because in normal time I’d rarely watch any non-EQ MLS games...
New kits for 20-21 from around the world. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53388384 I think amateur side Loch Ness FC wins it. Their kits have gone viral, a huge demand for them, and they have even introduced a third kit.
Forward Madison FC won awards for last year's jerseys (https://wkow.com/2019/12/20/forward-madison-named-team-with-best-jersey-in-the-league/) and have come up with this new alternate for 2020:
After having watched Miami FC(********ing cheats) play 4 games I've come to the conclusion that they're a bunch of complaining, dirty hacks. They flagrantly fouled the crap out of their opponents last night in a truly disgusting display.
did you think so? I kind of watched the game out of the corner of my eye while eating dinner and watching the cooligans on another screen. Being so distracted, I didn't notice a lot of dirty stuff, but I was mostly looking for cards and confrontations. And semed like Petrescu was not calling much until late in the game... He only called 35 fouls and 5 cautions (2 turned into a red in stoppage time). - - - - EDIT - - - - i did watch the MIA-ORL game that kicked off the tournament, and I thought that game was like CONCACAF, a lot of aggressive physical play without regard to the opponent's safety. And exacerbated by poor job by the CR.
David Gantar is by far the worst official on the field for MLS, bar none. The game he's officiating for Colorado vs SKC is a true horror show.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...meline-released-inaugural-season-newest-clubs Austin FC, which was announced back in January 2019 and made significant progress before the onset of the pandemic, will remain on schedule for a 2021 launch. The other three clubs, all announced in the second half of 2019, will each have their expansion seasons rescheduled by one year. The updated schedule follows below: Austin FC: 2021 inaugural season Charlotte: 2022 inaugural season St. Louis: 2023 inaugural season Sacramento: 2023 inaugural season
This pandemic is scaring off a lot of people... I hope they don’t cancel their expansion teams altogether...
I want to recommend this thread... it's a real page turner. It starts out a little slow, then get's depressing early on. But it builds from there and the ending is FANTASTIC! https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/p...-la-galaxy-v-lafc-7-18-20-7-30pm-pst.2110657/
Bingham had progressed a little last season, but last night he looked like he did when he was struggling with the Quakes. I've been really surprised that LAG haven't tried harder to find a new GK. When LAFC tied the game at 2-2, you could see the LAG players just sag, and they never recovered. Hard to play well when you know your GK can't stop anything. I wonder how much longer the Galaxy will stick with the Schelotto twins. It sure doesn't seem to be working. Maybe they should bring Zlatan or Keane back as player-coach
With the failure of Yallop and continuing failure of Kinnear, I guess we can attribute the dynasty years to the pipeline created by our own Johnny Moore.
Actually, I think Donovan and DeRosario were ridiculously talented in offense. Without either one Kinnear and Yallop have been awful. They had great finishers like Wondo and Ibra but no one to create for them.
And they have 0 point after 2 games. Not a chance to go to the next round. Thank you for visiting Florida.
