Frank Yallop didn't cut Bobby Burling.

He didn't? I could have sworn I heard him saying that when I spoke to him at the Stanford-Cal game a few years ago. Maybe he was left unprotected for the expansion draft? Either way, he was unwanted in San Jose and was not brought back.

The other side of this equation was Bobby Burling failing to step in front of Quincy Amerikwa's shot, thus allowing a goal. Given Burling's lack of regular scoring opportunities, I'm going to go ahead and say I'd take Bernardez and Goodson every time against Burling. I would even taken Hernandez over Burling. That doesn't take away the great header, of course. It was great, but one goal doesn't make up for mostly unspectacular regular play.

I'm just glad to see bobby burling & Quincy have a little success - as long as it's not against us, of course.

I'm glad for Burling as he is a great guy. Too bad he plays for a rival team.

I always like Burling….the main reason being for that time against LA he knocked LD on his ass…..

Sponsors footing the bill along with owners like Man City. Not that long I believe.

Maybe and let's hope so but the clock is ticking on a lot of those guys. I doubt they'd come to MLS as long as they are making that kind of money in Europe.

It only took Jermaine Defoe 7 minutes to double Clint Dempsey's Seattle Sounder goal total.

Watching the Sounders -Toronto game, Defoe and Bradley both seem to already be on fire and a cut above everyone else. TFC is looking more like the Cosmos of the Mounties!

On another note, I'm willing to bet the DisCo will overlook Clint Dempsey's cheap shot when it comes time for review and he won't serve any suspensions.

TFC could have the best midfield in MLS right now with Rey, Osorio, DeRo, and Bradley.

Defoe's acquisition is already paying off in spades!

What the hell was Dempsey doing on that second Defoe goal? Yikes.. That's not "Captain of the USMNT" stuff there. Can't have none of that at the World Cup.

That wasn't Dempsey. The errant back pass was from Marco Pappa.
