Alright everyone...we just had an amazing month of footy with Euros and Copa being run simultaneously. Some GREAT matches and some snooze fests. We still have the Olympics this summer followed by the Nation's League coming up. Lots to talk about and lots to discuss. Post your discussion on "Other Teams" here.
Gareth Southgate has resigned. Despite the unimaginative football, he somehow managed a string of deep runs with England.
lame ass team sues another lame ass team, LOL. 🚨 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟: The French Football Federation is suing the Argentine Football Federation over 'racial and discriminatory remarks' sung by the supporters and by the team. 🇫🇷🇦🇷 pic.twitter.com/KkHoqhy8AV— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) July 16, 2024
Thank God, doesn't need to embarrass himself, LOL. 🚨🏴 Jürgen #Klopp will not become the new coach of the Three Lions! Been told he remains committed to taking a season-long break and does not intend to take over any team or association. @SkySportDE 🇩🇪 pic.twitter.com/Qv3VERx9wD— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) July 17, 2024
just as bad as taking Pengland. I don't think he'll take USA. USA are co-hosts in 2 years time, they embarrassed themselves as worst ever Copa America host, don't think they will hire a coach who will go back to coaching in Summer 2025 aka 1 year away from WC26. They need someone NOW after their current coach got axe. I actually think it would have been better for us if Nagelsmann had gotten job earlier than he did. We almost made SF and that was with him getting hired really late. had he had more time could have done more with NT.
It was a joke, sadly I don't seem to have the technique to indicate that very well. It was mentioned on a ESPN show about after the USmnt job became vacant, and if I recall correctly it was shot down fairly quickly. Also, klopp is 3rd most likely to take the job according to the bookies. (These are the same guys that gave England the best odds at winning the euro)
A German coaching the England national team.....God what's this world coming to??!! Ha Maybe iam old school, but I think just like players for national teams need to hold the citizenship of the country they are presenting....coaches should be the same. I know I made a case for Glasner when we were looking for a coach but he is practically German ha
Can the USA afford Klopp?? Weren't they being mocked because their federation decided to introduce equal pay for the mens and womens players and coaches? So if they hire Klopp for 8-10 mil a year then their women's team coach will have to earn the same amount. Iam pretty sure I heard or read that somewhere or was that fake??
Seems that karma is working on the Argentinian national team. Even sweeter it comes by the hand of African team Morocco.
Yep but it was only seconds before the final whistle. Morocco's fans stormed the pitch after the offside goal by Argentina. They needed some time to get them off the stadium.
Spain will play France in the final of the Olympics. They won the U19 Euro a couple of weeks ago and obviously the real Euro before that. Last year, they won the Nations League. Hopefully they won’t win this one as well. It’s becoming too much. They are too dominant. I don’t like that.
Damn, Spain won 5-3. France had all the momentum when they equalized in the 93rd minute. They were playing at home and Spain substituted their best players. So I don’t know how the hell Spain managed to win. It shouldn’t have happened. They are just too witty, skillful on the ball and tactically intelligent. Plus, they did it without Pedri, Gavi, Yamal, Williams, Omorodion, etc. It feels like they have figured football out. I saw someone mention the following: Spain: Most Euros U17 (9) Most Euros U19 (12) Most Euros U21 (5) Most Euros (4)
