Thought I'd ask here as one or more of those local to the area might be able to help.

Being forced to cut back on my trips up to watch halifax, but still wouldn't mind going to see some games more locally. Now watching Reading themselves would be out, so I'm trying to find someone else within the area (and preferably within walking distance).

The only one I can think of so far is Reading Town, and their website is conveniently down at the moment, so can find out how much it would cost. Recknon it would be a brisk half hour walk over there, so a good possibility.

So can anyone tell me anything about them, or other sides within the town?

Just a thought, Reading reserves and youth sides are quite good.

No doubt, and better than I'm used to. Have to say they really don't appeal, and presumably don't play on a Saturday anyway.

I'm sure Reading Town is the sort of place where you'll spend more on food and a programme etc than you will on admission - probably about £5. It'll also be very "grass roots" at that level, but if crowds of under 100 don't put you off the it'll be fine.

I was going to lament the state of non-league football in the area, with there being a number of towns that ought to have teams pushing towards a conference place, but then I remembered that there's a club not too far away in Oxford who are quite big for a non-league team :)

What else, u19 NT didint call him this time..

    I hope, he is OK.

He's healthy, came on in the sr reserves game at the hour mark last night:
Reading (4-4-2): Federici; Kelly, Bikey, Bygrave, Spence; Bozanic (Robson-Kanu 84), Oster, Halford, Henry (Karacan 60); Church, S Cox. This is a very young reserve team, aside form Oster and Bikey, no one who's played much with the first team (of course, halford, who was in center mid) will feature in time. they tied a more expereinced fulham side, 1-1.

Saw Reading Town today (a 3-1 win against Banstead Athletic). It's cold.
