    World Cup 2026: The USA hatches an eagle mascot named ‘Clutch’

    Maple the Moose, Zayu the Jaguar and Clutch the Bald Eagle.

    The USA’s mascot for the 2026 World Cup, Clutch the Bald Eagle, has a namesake with a lauded career in the sports-spirit trade.

    The Houston Rockets introduced Clutch the Rocket Bear in 1995. He’s since been a three-time NBA Mascot of the Year and Mascot Hall of Fame inductee.

    Upon FIFA’s unveiling of the three World Cup host countries’ mascots, it explained that Clutch, a midfielder, “possesses an unquenchable thirst for adventure, soaring across the United States and embracing every culture, game and moment with boundless curiosity and optimism.”

    Mexico’s mascot Zayu the Jaguar, a striker “from the jungles of southern Mexico embodies the rich heritage and vibrant spirit of the country.”

    Canada’s Maple the Moose, a goalkeeper, “was born to roam, journeying across all of Canada’s provinces and territories while connecting with people and embracing the country’s rich culture.

    Enzo is doing great. What a performance at the weekend and he got another assist tonight against Liverpool. So many doubted his ability but he is showing he is a top baller and if he keeps this up, he will get snapped up by a top EPL side. Gasperini would have been perfect for him.
