Cricket is one sport I've never been able to fully figure out, but wasn't it looking grim for England not too long ago?
Not really. There are so many variables like the pitch and the weather and so on, it's hard to explain succinctly and concisely how England could lose the 4th test so heavily and then win the 5th test quite comfortably and for that not to be a shock in any way.
Love it. This for me is the picture that captures the aftermath of one of the best moments of the 2009 Ashes: This of course epitomises Freddie's 2005 Ashes
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Bro, you need to expand your horizons. Fedor Emelianenko is the baddest & toughest Heavyweight Mixed Martial artist on the Planet. My guess you are calling him a poof, cause of his tight shorts. Well, he wears them, so you can't get a grab of his clothing. I seen this guy take incredible damage & still find a way to win. He likes to fight guys bigger than him. His nickname is the The Last Emperor. Here is a bit of his handy work:
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Only the best MMA fighter around. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedor_Emelianenko

Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Never lost an official fight due to KO, decision, or sub. He was only DQd because he was cut open and bled in a tournament.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] My favorite Fedor moment was in 2004 when Kevin "The Monster" Randleman slammed Fedor on his head. Fedor's response
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] To include the 'fat poofter' demographic? It would be interesting to see how long those fellas would last with either of these guys... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcAZ7gnRh4o"]YouTube- Boxing Tribute - Marvin Hagler vs Sugar Ray Leonard[/ame] My guess would be about 30 seconds.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Well, if they leave their arms out, it could get broken from an armbar. Seen it happen. Don't forget, the guys from MMA can kick. I am thinking that a MMA guy can have enough skills to get a boxer into Muy Thai clinch. Once in there, MMA guys throws elbows & knees w/ deadly perfection. Example:
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] lol Fedor would destroy either of those, close grapple and take them to the ground.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Andy, as someone already said, boxers only know how to box, so while in a boxing match, they would easily defeat mma fighters, in a real fight, it wouldn't even be close. These guys know jujitsu, wrestling, aikido, karate, sumbissions, ground fighting and a bunch of other shit. Youtube Royce Gracie and see how the guy of his size easily defeats opponents twice or 3 times his size.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] I'm not talking about the style of fighting... I'm talking about the fact that neither of those two fellas are in any sort of condition to fight. The Gracie character at least LOOKS like a fighter. They don't.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] didnt Andrei Arlovski leave MMA to box after he lost to fedor
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] If we're posting videos about martial artists and fighters, then a couple about Bruce Lee need to be in here. Granted these are filmed but Bruce was something else. Probably one of the biggest reasons why I got into martial arts. Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] I'm sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong. Just b/c someone doesn't have a six-pack does not mean they are not in a condition to fight. Guys luck Chuck Lidell, or BJ Penn, or Lyoto Machida are not crazy ripped either, yet if you would know a little about MMA, you would see why it doesn't matter.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Pitbull Arlovski hasn't fought since June after getting rocked by Brett Rodgers. I guess he has plans to fight again, but the main question is w/ what organization.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] That's so true. It wouldn't even be a close fight. I had a similar conversation on our OT thread. No one is going to sit there and trade punches. These MMA guys will just swoop their legs and put the boxers on their back where they can't throw effective punches. Then the boxers are screwed. If you're one-dimensional, you aren't going to beat a real fighter.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] you can't be serious...someone please tell me this guy is kidding?
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Andy is impersonating a spiral staircase, and everybody keep going up it to see what is at the top.
Re: 25th Fixture - February 7, 2009 - Chelsea FC vs. Arsenal FC [R] Amazing that a discussion of dangerous people and people who would beat others in other arenas and real fights has gone on so long and no one has mentioned the most dangerous human being alive. Jens Lehm... I mean Anderson Silva. That dude frightens me. He's also a genuinely nice guy too.
