    Overall 12th place, per capita 8th place. In 2021 it was 11th and 10th. In 2020 8th and 6th. 2019 10th and 7th. 2018 9th and 8th.

Wowzers, NZ beat England 3-1 and Belgium lose to Australia 2-0.

England were one of the favourites to win the whole thing and they are now in last place

  12. Well, "we" made a "good" impression worldwide.
Smh, what a bunch of morons.
How come we don't see that behaviour with the masses of Orange football fans, or is this just the introduction to the broader spectrum of fans.

The cynical reality is that these reports are also part of the psychological warfare and the staged narrative of the Dutch/Verstappen as the (immature) bad guys. It is part of the 'soft power' warfare, especially by the Brits, by SkySports and 'drive to survive' Netflix stuff.

For years and years the Italian Ferrari tifosi and the English have been doing this, and at much larger quantities.

This includes systematic and persistent hostility shown towards peaceful Dutch fans, up until the penultimate race, in Silverstone (the race before Austria).

Only now the F1 organization and FIA are making official statements, which stinks big time if you ask me. There is a concerted villianization effort behind this, 100%. Many, many years of documentated and statistically woeful behavior by Italian and English fans didn't lead to statements somehow.

Remember: for many, many years the foreign authorities were generally happy with the Dutch fans, not least Austria itself (but also Belgium, Germany, France...). In 2021, the first post-corona edition, the Austrian authorities praised the Dutch fans (the borders for other countries remained closed).

That being said - as pointed out in the link above - they are not the most sophisticated ones. They aren’t like golf and tennis fans (recently, tennis has seen an uplift).

  14. Don't apologise the shitheads. It's of no importance what other nationalities shitheads do.
We're not as Orange football fans going about the same way like the English hooligans do when England plays, so there's no reason to behave this way as F1/Max fans.
This has nothing to do with what you posted. It's plain and simple disgusting behaviour on it's own. Those imbecils donot read English/UK papers, let alone the trashpress.

No, but the general atmosphere (as well as the aggression they have themselves received for years) does have an effect on this.

It has been eight years since the first signs of the 'orange armada' and only now those reports/incidents surface (with 'suddenly' a statement by the organizers).

That is what years of socialisation - and on the receiving end of aggression - does.

Hence the cheering of crashes - returning the favour. Wasn't the case before.

Good effort in the TdF this year (cycling). The Tour de Farce.

I can remember a period where they didn't win a stage for over a decade...

  17. Don't be a seeker for excuses. Especially for the misogynic behaviour exhibited. Before last year Max was incidently successful, let alone a threat to be reacted on towards his fans. Don't make up things in order to excuse disgusting behaviour. On top of that it were probably a few hundreds of the 60 000 Dutch fans behaving like that, but that's still a couple of hundreds too much.

For years and years British fans (the 'home of motor racing') and Ferrari fans are doing precisely that stuff and at much larger quantities. Only now a media storm and statements by the governing body are thrown out. What do you not understand about that?

He was seen as an aggressive and unsportsmanlike driver (by the British media at least) and the only one, since 2018 (or 2017 when the car didn't break down), who could regularly split the Mercedes drivers. For others he was the main one who made things entertaining, so yes, there was ample reason to attack the orange fans. That is what the Brits and Ferrari simpletons have done for years.

The Daily Telegraph made in the beginning of 2021 a list of the best drivers this century and he was by them seen (in their model) as the best "pound for pound" driver. Hence all the cheering down the years when he had misfortune.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/formula-1/0/top-20-best-f1-drivers-racers-teams-rankings-21st-century/

It is not made up - read the aforementioned NRC article.

Which is precisely my beef: other fanbases have done this for many years and at clearly larger quantities. That didn't lead to a media campaign, Mercedes inviting "victims" in their box, or a statement by the F1 organization. It stinks.

Our fans are one of the best in the world.

  19. So you're okay with that misogynic crap behaviour, because other "fans" did it too?
To put it plain and simple:
There is no excuse for this behaviour....EVER.
