I can't say I disagree with you about the owners and such, nothing annoys me more than the transformation of sport into a business. However, I can't stop supporting my teams because I know the owners are scumbags.

I can't stand the concept of boycotting a team because of the owners. You root for the boys on the field, not for the guys in the office.

I know it's a Catch 22 and all... if the fans stop showing up they'll have to do something to get everyone back to the ballpark. In the end, though, it's the guys on the field that make up the club.

That was a case of the owners directly screwing us rather than indirectly, which is the difference.

2-year extension for Uncle Charlie, when Torre is about to get fired. Who would you rather have?

Typical Phillies ownersh!t; doing the next best thing instead of the best option.

    Torre?

Maybe he's a good manager, but I think it would kill me to actually try and like him. He managed the pinstriped devils for a long time, there is much....dislike there.

He is the leading candidate for NL manager of the year. So the move makes sense I really have no problems with the extension.

Don't try and fix what isn't broken. We made the playoffs with Charlie. And we'll make it again next season.

Torre doesn't impress me. Never has.

Oooh. He won four World Series with the Yankees. Big f'in deal. He did well with the one team with a nearly infinite budget.

And when we fall flat on our faces due to more bungling moves by Charlie Clampett, what will the masses say then?

I will be saying "why is that dipshit waddling bobblehead still managing us?"

I think he is unfit to manage and his record reflects the talent of his teams and his post season record reflects his.

As much as I like to root for the Phils as the home team, I find it amazing that a lot of the fans seem to have forgotten the circumstances surrounding the division title. While, yes, the Phils had to put some wins together during the Mets' collapse, the Mets' collapse is truly THE reason for the title. Without the Mets losing, the wins would've meant nothing.

you gotta give the phils some credit with the momentum they had in the final bunch of series.

Well, we would've tied Colorodo and San Diego for the Wild Card spot. That's something.

You know the important thing about Manuel is, that the players play well for him, and do not bitch and moan. He is getting the best out of them. I put most of the faults of the team on the coaching staff/ownership. There should of never been an overhaul. This is a solid decision I have no problems with it. They could of given him the 5 year deal he was looking for so let's deal with him for now.

The 1979 Phillies liked Danny Ozark, they didn't win shit. The 1980 Phillies hated Dallas Green, they won.

Sometimes, players need their asses kicked. It would also help if we had a manager that understood pitching strategy.

He sucks. The only time in his career where he had a sustaioned winning streak was when he had a 200 million dollar payroll. Corky from Life Goes On could do that. [corky]today, i want A-Wod and Jeeetr to sit and west 4 the importen game against the team with duh pretty colors[/corky]
