Guys, obviously the pseudo negativity isn't working... What do you say we try and be as upbeat and positive as possible... we've got nothing to lose...
Hamels won't pitch on short rest if there is a Game 4 "If the Phillies beat the Colorado Rockies tomorrow night in Game 3 of the National League division series at Coors Field, Kyle Lohse is scheduled to start Sunday in Game 4. There is no chance Cole Hamels would pitch on short rest in Game 4." thank goodness. lohse is a clutch pitcher, and i cannot remember the last time i saw him give up a dinger (or a grand slam for that matter). not like there will be a game 4 anyway, so we won't have the pleasure of watching him pitch. --------------------------------- CONSPIRACY THEORISTS UNITE! Let's go Penn State! I'm anxious to see if Morelli can turn it over less than five times. I'll be heading to Happy Valley shortly and looking forward to Brian Setzer's new CD in the heavy rotation. If any of you Lion haters are looking for an avatar why not an Iowa Hawkeye logo or, at the very least, a pic of JoePa eating his oatmeal. Through a straw. Smell you later.
any you philly guys familiar with suburban station? can you walk from there to 15 st station without leaving the terminal?
Oh, you'll be fine. Yes, all those stations are interconnected. I'm pretty sure you could walk from 8th St. to Market East to 11th St. to 13th St. to 15th/City Hall to Suburban to Walnut-Locust to the 15th/16th or 12th/13th PATCO stations without going above ground. And it's fine.
How much do you think the poor performance in the first two is due, if at all, to the satisfaction of just getting to the playoffs. Many of my buddies, who have been following the phils religiously, even during the lean times, used to always say "Dude I just want them to make the playoffs." Now that they did, do you guys think the added celebration and hoopla contributed to the 2 crappers at home?
Well its been a great baseball season, but its about 3 innings from being over. Oh well let's go Flyers!
Actually, that was amazing. Loved his assist to Gagne too. Although with the Phils, I can't say I'm mad at them. We made the playoffs and beat the Mets to do it, that's good enough for me after a 14 year drought.
I grew up loving baseball and the Phils (born and raised in South Jersey), but it just doesn't do it for me anymore. Philly fan through and through, but I gave up on baseball a long time ago. I appreciate how you guys feel about it and don't want to seem callous, but if you just allow yourselves to accept that the Phils will never do anything but disappoint, you'll all be better off!
They didn't disappoint me this season, quite the opposite. They made the playoffs, an honor only 8 teams in the MLB have, and beat the Mets and Braves to do so.
Actually the fans would've been better off if they didn't make it this year. This team didn't have the depth to get to the World Series, or even win it. All of those Phillies fans that got sooo excited only further lined the pockets of the Front Office they hate so much. What did the playoffs actually get the fans? 2 heartbreaking home games featuring a lackluster performance. A lighter wallet since they had to buy: NL East Champions shirts. Tickets to the 2 games (which some paid $300+/seat/game for) Food, gas, etc... The players? They still got paid their millions The owners/front office? The executives on this team were laughing and laughing and laughing as they counted up all the extra income, especially when they can "promise" another great season next year, so more will buy their tickets. As much as I love professional sports, I can't help but feel bad for a lot of people who I think are nothing but "rubes" to the owners. But don't worry, our beloved Philly MLS team will re-instill my faith in pro sports!!!
i have officially decided to boycott all philadelphia sports until we get a MLS team..and by the sounds of it that could be a while
