Well, it's mid-September which means the Phillies are close enough to the playoffs to miss by one game come October, the Eagles are inviting Vai Sikahema back to return kicks, the Sixers are trading for no one we've heard of, and the Flyers are trying to reinvent themselves.
Ahh a new Philadelphia sports thread. A new day for hope. A warm feeling rushes through and can you smell that. I think they the tides are a turning. Philly might be in for some good luck now fellas. Ok... so that was so 2000. When we thought every team had a chance. Time to scrape all of Philadelphia clean and start again. Remember those Richie Kotite, John Lucas, Terry Simpson, days... ahh but those phils had one good year 1993. Then a strike and a year later go fighting who? We live in Philadelphia boys. We have plenty of years of agony ahead of us. I can't wait for that parade in 2030... isn't that the same year they will release who killed JFK. Oh well another year another heart break.
what about the patriots ********ing us over? 43 yards in the 1st quarter, like 260 after that...any thoughts?
To be honest I think the Eagles look silly coming out and making those claims. I'm not a big Donovan McNabb fan, but I'm glad to see he was reasonable in his assessment the game and did not try to blame the Super Bowl loss on any sort of "cheating."
What about #5 throwing 3 interceptions in that game...one a few yards shy of the goal line? I think McNabb's statements show that he knows that regardless of what occurred on the sidelines, his offense had a ton of opportunities to make up the 3 points, but they blew those chances.
but those int's wouldn't have happened if the defense wasn't spying on the signaling and play calling.
Actually we'll find out that the Pats spied on every team EXCEPT the Eagles, because of how predictable Andy & Company's play calling is.
Just because the Eagles played an imperfect offensive game doesn't mean the outcome wouldn't have been influenced if NE was taping to steal defensive signs. The second half showed stretches where NE always seemed to call the perfect play against the Eagles' D. Sure, we don't know they were taping then. But, since their former coaches knew about it it must have been going on to some extent for years. And, they wouldn't have taken the risk of continuing to do it if it didn't help them win games. It pisses me off how some, including Anthony Gargano, poo poo the impact this might have had over the years of NE dominance. They must be too in love with the NFL to admit what this scandal might really mean.
If they prove there was cheating during that game, it should be overturned. But, if it all came out, I'll bet they were cheating during the playoffs too. In that case, they should probably just invalidate the New England win without giving it to anyone in their place. I wonder how many people are pouring over tapes of old Patriot games.
If the Phillies make it to the Show, I'm buying a round trip plane ticket to come home and see them play. Which means they're going to do nothing but disappoint me again.
why does it matter? we get thisclose to the division and the wild card and then we lose the remaining 13 games on the schedule.
I'm convinced it's possible that the Phillies and Mets can play every game in their 162 game schedule, and that the Phils could finish .5 games behind.
