Oh, so he gets it like the Eagles get they need a WR, or the Sixers get they need a PF.

The birds fixed the WR problem, don't worry about it! Didn't you hear about DeSean Jackson? http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/team/DeSean-Jackson.html
5'-10", 175 pounds! (and thats from the official roster, so he's really 5'-9" 165 lb max)
what more could you ask for? He's like a shorter Todd Pinkston! EXACTLY what we need!

ha! and people think that the birds ownership and FO aren't serious about winning a superbowl!

    ;)

Jeez, the Fillies stink. The don't even deserve the "Ph". They should just cut Howard and Hamels and be done with it.

Was at the game last night...I was expecting fire to rain down from the sky after Burrell and Howard got a triple in the same game

We should trade Greg Dobbs straight up for Bartolo Colon, we could use a good pinch hitter

the guys on ESPN were having a field day when his helmet flew off during his 2nd at bat. which i also read caused him to leave with a back injury?

who needs j-ro and the flyin' hawaiian, when we have pat the bat and r-ho running those base paths?

That was one of the first Phillies games I've been able to watch all season. Ryan Howard with a triple, hm? Didn't someone say earlier in this thread that he needs to start stealing more? Come on, Charlie, wake up!

Colon is the worst hitter since Ugley decided he'd bring a giant bowl of suck to second base, with a spoon big enough so that all of us could have a bite.

at least last night the phils showed the level of play we've all grown to love.

SO tempted to cut out of work and watch the BPS today ... although i doubt there are many (if any) tickets available.

When I saw the news report on the signing this morning I was thinking the exact same thing. We don't need our teams wearing uniforms so that street gangs, and gangsta wanna be's will buy them.

To ensure an even greater collapse then the Mets did last year. The Amazin's are roarin' back... Only a matter of time before the Phillies choke.

With the Mets as hot as they are, the suckfest that's known as 1st place Phillies will soon finish their spectacular implosion, just in time to arrive in last place.

always love that "numbers are deceiving" gimmick.

    5 wins + 12 losses = suck

Jamie Moyer's numbers were similar when we picked him up. How many of Cole Hamel's losses this season have come in games where he gave up 1 or 2 runs and got no run support. Wins and losses are just one of many indicators for a pitcher. I don't think it was the right pickup, but lets not pretend a bad record guarantees failure.
