This is just for the ease of all those who care about any other second tier games that are going on in college football outside of Dallas on Saturday.
I have my doubts that anyone not living in the Southern Great Plains believes that UT-OU is important but Miami-FSU, Tennessee-Georgia, Michigan-Penn State, and LSU-Florida are not.
Re: Re: Other Oct. 12 College Football Games Besides UT/OU I think most people who are interested in college football ould believe those are important games -- but my statement was about caring or not. I think its very important because those games may have an effect on who OU or UT will play for the National Championship. I mean, I believe when and how I die is important, but I don't CARE about it while engaged in coitus with a UT TriDelt.
Not that it should bother me at all (since I will be at the college alma mater for homecoming), but the Oklahoma/Texas game should not be regional. That is just a shame. I am sure that there are people want to see their regional games. ABC should just put the team markets on their regional game and give everyone else that big game from Texas.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Other Oct. 12 College Football Games Besides UT/OU and USC is in ......Columbia? Hah! Bears over the pretenders 30-10
i have the distinct pleasure of attending this game tomorrow. the worst team in division 1a in the rain. this stuff kicks!
Iowa over Michigan St. tomorrow, with me and over 70,000 others in attendance. Let's go Hawkeyes, bay-bee.
What are you all talking about? The big game is NC State vs UNC, battle for the supremacy of I-40! Cow college visits the Southern Part of Heaven!
who the hell cares? all these pretenders are a joke compared to Miami, so these #2 vs #3 matchups and whatnot are laughable.
So #2 and #3 are jokes, but a team that loses to Louis ville is only 1 point worse than the great Miami.
what a freaking game between florida state and miami. when it comes to this game florida state is just snake-bitten, i mean wide right, wide right, wide left...what gives?
I've always thought, for all the wins that FSU has racked up, Bobby Bowden (or his staff) was a poor game manager. They had a time out and plenty of time to either move the ball closer or into the middle of the field, yet inexplicably almost manage to not get the FG attempt off. This reminded me of their first national championship when they badly mismanaged the clock and almost allowed Nebraska to come back. Great recruiter and motivator, perhaps, but he's a poor tactical coach. Oh, and damn you to NCow State for beating Carolina. Bastards. Good luck with the rest of the season.
Re: Re: Other Oct. 12 College Football Games Besides UT/OU Well you have to understand the source, these simpletons in Texas believe that people outside of Texas actually respect their program. It's kind of like "You can't see the forest through the trees." Only, it's you can't see what a joke the Texas football program under Mack Brown is as long as you are surrounded by a bunch of drunk yahoo's yelling "Yeeee haww!!! Let'see go you Lownghorns! Stick'em!!!" Go Chris Simms, you are dismantling the program faster than Mack Brown was.
I'm surprised to hear that the University of Texas still has a football team. I thought they disbanded after Earl Campbell went pro.
Even though we beat Joe Pa, I'm still beginning to think that Lloyd Carr isn't the greatest head coach ever. Excellent coaches do not have teams that line up offside on fourth down. They do not teach their quarterbacks to throw into double, triple or quadruple coverage. And when the score is tied at 21 with thirty seconds left in the game and you have the ball on your own thirty with three time outs remaining, you do not take a freaking knee and hope it goes well in overtime. Granted, it did. We're 5-1. Shouldn't complain. But I'm not happy.
OK Bassman, congratulations to Southern Cal. Well-earned win. Cal is a serious team again, and USC showed alot of character.
you shouldn't be... and you'll be even less happy in late november. losing two years in a row to ohio state...oh the shame!
Yeah yeah, you two are ignoring the current #1 team in the Big Ten. The Iowa Hawkeyes put a beatdown on Michigan St. yesterday and they sit alone on top of the conference standings at 3-0 (6-1). That third quarter against Iowa St. still haunts me, because we could have been a major player in the BCS. Ohio St. is lucky Iowa is not on their schedule this year. The game in two weeks vs. Michigan is going to be a doozy.
