Brazil coach Tite extends contract until 2022 World Cup https://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/brazil-coach-tite-extends-contract-2022-world-cup/
I don't like Brasil but this is a good move for them. IMO, if Douglas Costa played more, they'd have gotten past Belgium
With that team, anything less than third place is a travesty. No if's, and's or but's. Instead of hiring a European manager, they hire a domestic manager that admittedly started studying European football philosophy before the tournament began and bases his strategy around it. Brazil can't seem to come to terms with having the players, but not the managers. I don't know why they continue to make things difficult for themselves. They need a manager who has spent their career managing European clubs.
Hello there Portugal forum. What are your honest and blunt opinions about Carlos Queiroz? There's rumors he may be the lead candidate to take the Colombian Job and leave Iran. If I remember correctly many people here did not think too highly of him. Thanks in advance.
Carlos Queiroz, is perfect for Iran, Egypt and not bad for a teams like Iceland and Switzerland, he is not a coach for the top teams of Europe or South América (i.e. teams with more talent on paper at least). That said maybe Colômbia wants a more combative approach, with less style and better results. CQ Will make Colômbia Play forgetful football, aleinate fans and cause controversy unnecessarily, after all that you might get better results, but it Will not feel like it, unless you win a tournament.
Tite has stripped Neymar of the captaincy ahead of the Copa America and Dani Alves will be wearing the armband. http://www.espn.com/soccer/brazil/story/3863042/neymar-stripped-of-brazil-national-team-captaincy
Platini arrested over awarding Qatar the World Cup 2022 https://www.fotmob.com/news/world/k18hwhsemb9m1g88q94w3ix8e-BREAKING NEWS: Michel Platini detained over Qatar World Cup bid
Detained not arrested. Much like the rest of the corruption in FIFA, UEFA and the Portuguese Liga nothing will be done. Business as usual.
He has to wait another 4 years for a chance at the copa....oh wait no he gets ANOTHER chance next year lol. His 6th Copa America attempt.
But that’s only if they qualif- Oh, that’s right... Copa America 2020 appears to be co-hosted by Argentina and Colombia. Interesting setup too: two six-team groups, one “North” and one “South,” with the top four in each advancing to the quarterfinals. That means an extra 12 group matches over the usual format and a longer tournament. It couldn’t be more obvious they’re trying to compete with Euro 2020.
I don't know why North, Central and South America don't form one big tournament, sort of like the Centenario on a more regular basis.
Euro 2020 super favourties #Itscominghome England lost to the Czech rep. In other news Belgium a team who has beaten one top 10 side Once in their ENTIRE history is still ranked #1 while Portugal is walking around with TWO CHAMPIONS CRESTS on their jerseys. Take a bow FIFA, UEFA, the Media, and Football algorithym mathmetiticians that work for the Belgian FA.
They play 0 friendlies and walk all over their group. So they never risk negative results. The FIFA rankings are a farce anyways.
I’d honestly prefer for us to fly under the radar. When there’s outside support we seem to underperform.
Italy Qualified with a good record. Mancini is a good coach and I believe they will be playing some matches at home in this tournament. I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a deep run this tournament.
Portugal only play well when they have something to prove. Massively prefer us to go into any tournament as underdogs.
