This kind of thing happens all the time in England, right?

Landon's post-playing career has been kinda interesting. I get that he's just built differently; club loyalties don't seem that important to him. But I notice he's jumping at the chance to leave the the SD Loyal; he's interviewed for RSL and now the Quakes. He's a founder, executive and the current manager, but he seems to want to take every opportunity to leave after just a couple years. You'd think he'd at least try to win a trophy or something with them first.

"Jumping at chance to leave SD" seems like an unfair take. He has done very well with SD and been an excellent coach for them. Nothing wrong with Landon trying to move up the ladder to coach first division soccer.

watching Austin FC/Houston and I forgot Paulo Nagamura is now coaching so I was curious and looked it up and there is 7 coaches (25%of coaches) in MLS (maybe an 8th if Donovan goes to the quakes) that have Galaxy ties and it is just a reminder of how dominant and class that the Galaxy used to be and how far this organization has fallen

It does, And you’re right LD doesn’t seem to be all that invested in club loyalty.

This isn’t super serious on my part, more like a “when it rains it pours” thing. I wouldn’t want LD as manager. He’s done fine with the Loyal, but I don’t know that he’s been exceptional and goodness knows our FO would screw him over.

I agree, for the most part, but I found it somewhat surprising that he was looking for another job in just his 2nd season with the loyal. I assume he would also give up the VP of soccer operations job, right? For a pretty brand new club, it seems like he could be leaving them a bit high-and-dry if they don't get good replacements for those positions.

We were watching the same match but what I saw was the crowd. Those people are having fun cheering their team on and the way they are playing. That was also a reminder of what it used to be like around this joint.

    Very different now.

that was the first thing I noticed as well, but I thought it was just me noticing such a great crowd but it was great to watch and had me rooting for Austin, I miss those days a lot and I'm sorry to say I doubt we will see that kind of atmosphere at the Diggs in the near future

Yeah but he’ll feel guilty and work through it in therapy, expunging whatever damage he did to the SD Loyal. I thought you knew how that worked?

Looks like NYCFC has decided to emulate the Galaxy's innovative "ignore what they actually do on the field" approach to picking U-22 DPs:

After watching Man C v Bayern saw LAFC was midway, switched to see Bale sub in. He scores beautiful counterattack goal on his first shot. As I am writing this he badly misses his attempt to chip keeper.

Apparently LAFC has brought in several new players, including one a couple days ago. Very active - like our FO.:(

I've been curious about Toronto FC, for awhile as I kind of feel that they are currently in the some trajectory as the Galaxy, lets call it the "Leiweke effect" and they have been trending towards the bottom of the east and what do they do they bring in Insigne and Bernardeschi two in their prime players to bolster their team and it pays dividends immediately of course time will tell if its a long term success but it sure beats what the Galaxy are doing with their "big time" signings

Yeah looking back it seems like we’ve only really hit it out of the park on 1 of our DP signings since Keane. And then maybe had 3-4 decent signings. Out of 11 DPs since Keane. That’s horrible.

That's 3-4 decent signings as in decent players - Allesandrini, Van Damme, etc. - not decent DPs...

Horrible morning to you all! This is it the nail in the coffin for me. If the scumbags get Suarez I'm done with this FO and management team. This is a slap to all of our faces, Riot squad and ACB if you continue to support this abomination you are enabling failure! I can not stand by and support ineptitude and catastrophic idiocy! I, you, we deserve better. This tells me the LA Galaxy does not care about the history, city or It's fan base. We are expendable assets. If this goes through for the 1st time ever I will be ashamed of being a Galaxy fan!

Does LAFC even have a DP spot to make this happen?

It's interesting to see a team that is doing so well meddle so aggressively with its squad. If we're lucky, maybe this will mess with the chemistry some how.

They look pretty darn good though. Just being honest.

Now reports that LAFC aren't interested and another report mentioning the LA Galaxy. Cue Galaxy fans flipping from "Not fair that Suarez is going to LAFC, our FO sucks!" to "Why are we signing a washed-up Suarez?!? our FO sucks!"

since we are being honest, I feel that the LAFC Organization has done a nice job of shedding the "lolchivas" label the fanbase not so much

I would be ok with Suarez, he would add some bite to this lethargic offense

and now reports are saying he will in end up with a South American team, the rumor mill is a churning
