Plus in 2011 the LA Galaxy had the greatest player in MLS history on their roster. At his absolute peak. Case. Closed.
When I was thinking about our Big 3 roster while watching that game I thought about this dude a lot. The Galaxy caught this man at a perfect time. If he could have poured his mind from the last 6 years of his career into his young self this dude would have been a star in the premiere league no problem.
Yep from 2010-2012 we essentially had the same Beast Mode Roster give or take very few minor adjustments from year to year with guys like Dema Kovalenko, Chris Birchall, Eddie Lewis, Chad Barret, David Lopez, Adam Cristman or Tommy Meyer
The entire ATL organization from De Boer to the players, the marketing department, and their fans must be wondering if Xmas has been moved up this year. They have the third best record but get all playoff games at home. The playoff sea has parted in front of them - they just have to do their part to take advantage.
Yeah 2010 was an amazing year that sort of ended abruptly when we got shellacked at home by Dallas. Very weird game as I recall, we’re really off and Dallas was on. Sort of reminiscent of the LAFC/Seattle game last night.
Crazy, disappointing sports day. My Astros lose (I know, most of you are glad) and then my dvr cut off the last 30 min of ATL-TOR game. Weird fact - World Series home teams go 0-7 and top 3 MLS teams go 2-3 at home. Are we in the upside down world?
A TOR victory will instantly be worth several million to Bradley. If they win Cup he is guaranteed a 1-year $6.5m contract extension. I'm sure that is a few mil over what he would fetch in free agency. (For reference -- only one player in MLS made more than $6.5m this season. And I hear that player is going to Spain.) https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/10/31/what-else-mls-cup-win-would-mean-michael-bradley
I'm sort of excited that Chivas 2.0 will play in the CCL next year. It will be fun to watch their roster get stretched thin and for the injuries to inevitably build up. If they are like most MLS sides they will struggle out of the gate in league play and be playing catch up. I hope they get destroyed by Mexican competition and all their players get injured.
LAFC were en route to the best MLS season ever -- through Aug 21 -- and it wasn't close. At that point they were 19-3-5 with an outstanding +46 goal differential. But then they played the Galaxy to a 3-3 draw at home on Aug 25th and the wheels fell off. Starting with that game they only won 3 of their last 10 games (including playoffs) and gave up 18 goals, including 6 goals allowed in two home playoff games. And that was all she wrote. LAFC could have had the best MLS season ever. But to claim that they would have had to finish the job. Instead they went off with a whimper. I like to think we had something to do with that.
I think the supporters shield should go to the best record from the close of the transfer window in summer til the end of the season. That’s the only time all the teams are actually all in with their full teams and not just saving resources for the summer.

Return package is expected to be among the largest amounts of allocation money exchanged in MLS history.Reporting with @PaulTenorio: https://t.co/Fvj4FsQhWL— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) November 7, 2019 Nagbe gets his move
I'd like the Flounders to win the Cup to bring it back to the West, but, it'd be cool for Omar to win another, at the expense of MB winning, too.
