The Scottish Premiership is going down to the last day with Celtic hosting Hearts. A Celtic win gives them the championship, any other result and its Hearts' first championship since 1960. A very late (2 minutes after the end of stoppage time) questionable penalty for Celtic today got them a 3-2 win and turned that final game from "Celtic needs to win by 3" to "Celtic just needs to win". There was a strong MLS flavor to that penalty. Motherwell midfielder Sam Nicholson was defending his former Rapids teammate Auston Trusty and got called for a handball as both jumped for a cross into the box.

Non-League Final Day at Wembley generated a 0-0 draw in the FA Vase Final with Stoneham beating Cockfosters 4-2 in the PK shootout. That was followed by a 0-0 draw in the FA Trophy Final with Southend beating my Wealdstone 4-2 in the PK shootout. So if you're a neutral that went for the doubleheader you saw 180 minutes of scoreless football and two 4-2 PK shootouts. (No extra time is played in these competitions)
This is........ wow. I knew the Prem was flush with cash, but my goodness! Barcelona who won the league got €53 million while Burnley who got relegated got €117 million. Tebas masterclass. 👏 pic.twitter.com/LeICyUuJ0Y— Omo Barca⚽️🖤 (@Tobs_fc) May 19, 2026
Southampton at the moment has been booted out of Saturday's Championship Promotion Final and replaced with Middlesbrough after admitting they spied on opponent training sessions three times this season (and didn't win any of the following 3 games). They are appealing which will be determined tomorrow. Whichever way the appeal goes Hull awaits the team in the final this weekend.
People have suggested that the "spy" against Middlesbrough was on public property and that people are allowed to film. In fact he was on private property, a golf course. When spotted, he ran into the clubhouse, went into a locker room, changed his appearance then "escaped" by crossing the privately owned course and heading through woodland before emerging in a local village. It was as if he had planned his escape.
