Indonesia spanked Saudi last night meaning that Saudi Arabia will have to bribe it's way into the 2026 World Cup.

Table going into tonight's game Bahrain v Australia.

    Japan P6 Pts 16
    Australia P5 Pts 6 (GD +1)
    Indonesia P6 Pts 6 (GD -3)
    Saudi Arabia P6 Pts 6 (GD -3)
    China P6 Pts 6 (GD -10)
    Bahrain P5 Pts 5 (GD -5)

Top 2 qualify automatically I believe.

In the other groups UAE lead Qatar 5-0 after 88' and Iraq lead Oman 1-0 in added time.

On the other hand, @JasonMa, Liechtenstein did the very, very thinkable and LOST two matches in a row!

Their overall World Cup qualifying record is 2-7-61, with 25 goals scored and 219 conceded. They have not won a qualifying match since the 2006 Qualifiers.

Their Nation's League record (prior to this year) is 2-3-11.

It just so happened they lost to San Marino.
San Marino is the team that Liechtenstein has beaten the most in their history, with a record of 3-2-3.
On the other hand, Liechtenstein is the ONLY team that San Marino has ever beaten!

You are right, sucks for Gibs, though.

I think it would be cool if they just embraced their suburban existence. Real Salt Lake should be Real Sandy or Real Salt Lake County.

I'm all in favor of Nottingham Forest becoming West Bridgford Forest. Arsenal FC would become Holloway FC and Chelsea FC would become Fulham FC which may be a little confusing.

Australia's 1-0 lead after 74 minutes looked more comfortable than it was. Bahrain wake up and score 2 in 3 minutes. 2-1 Bahrain.

Australia equalise late into added time. Their goals came 96 minutes apart. A 2 minute VAR check increased the suspense. It ends 2-2.

    6 games played.

I'm rooting for Indonesia and the MLS connection with Maarten Paes....as long as Saudi Arabia finishes 4th in their group they won't need to pay anyone off. Looks like the Asian qualifiers are pretty forgiving, even fourth place in those initial groups can qualify directly to the World Cup if they finish first in their group of the next round; they can even finish 2nd in that group and still make it to the playoffs for the final World Cup berths, which would most likely be against a second tier CONCACAF team so they'd have to stumble hard to not make it.

The playoff won't be that easy--it will be six teams for two slots, so divided into 3-team brackets with the highest-ranked team getting a bye. It's two CONCACAF teams and one from every other confederation except UEFA. The bye teams waiting in the deciding matches will be from CONMEBOL and CAF unless something unusual happens.

This is a hilarious table. The only thing separating five of the six teams is their results against Japan -- Australia nicked a draw, China and Bahrain suffered the worst blowouts.

Another terrible VAR decision in the EPL as Southampton are denied a second goal.

An attacker in an offside position flicked his heel at the ball but missed it as it went past.

This was deemed interference though the fact that it took over 5 minutes for the VAR crew to make up their mind suggests they should have gone with the decision on the pitch.

I wish they had a team in SLC. I remember the games being really fun with the Blitzz 20years ago.

EPL is never going to improve if they don't add ProRel.

They're giving relegated teams 4 x the average Championship payroll in year one. That's almost as bad as suspending pro-rel.

Liga MX Gran Final 2nd leg, América leads 3-1 aggregate in the 2nd half in Monterrey. Brandon Vázquez is at the 9 position for Monterrey trying to do something.
