English Northern League Division Two news.

Sunderland West End were 5-2 up against Yarm & Eaglescliffe as the game moved into the second minute of added time.

5 minutes later the final whistle was blown with Yarm winning 6-5 after scoring 4 goals in 5 injury time minutes.

The 105 fans in attendance may have witnessed the greatest comeback of all time.

It wasn't even the only last second goal in the ACC tournament.

I have not come down from the high of the Spirit semifinal win. The playoff crowds were next level for the Spirit.

Really, it is pretty impressive, since they have only won two competitive matches in their history, both within the last two months and have only scored more than 1 goal a single time...yesterday.

 

At the expense of Gibraltar, who had to think they were sitting in that catbird seat going into the final day. The only thing that would deny them a promotion was the worst team in the world beating the same team for the second time in 2 months, after not having won a game for 10 years before that.

With the USL Championship final this weekend, I was looking at the standings for the season...umm is there something worse than a Wooden Spoon? Because Miami FC would certainly qualify: 11 points all season with a -63 goal differential is absolutely atrocious, borderline not trying/throwing level (they lost their last regular season game 8-1). I don't see them lasting much longer, especially in the same market as another team that happens to have Messi on it.
