The "Super 8" in the Cricket World Cup have been decided. These are the best eight countries in the world at cricket. No arguments allowed - if any country not on this list wanted to be on the list, they should have done better in the World Cup over the last two weeks.

    Afghanistan
    Australia
    Bangladesh
    England
    India
    South Africa
    United States of America

In T20 the USA lost the opener of the Super Eight stage to South Africa by 18 runs. They gave them a scare near the end, scoring 64 runs with 9 boundaries in overs 15-18, but got shut down in the last two overs. Next up is co-host West Indies at Kensington Oval in Barbados, where Eddie Lewis scored the lone goal in a USMNT 1-0 win in 2008.

USA batting first against the West Indies in the second of their three group matches in the Super 8. Currently 48/1 after six overs.

USA finishes with 128 runs in 19.5 overs - there was one ball left when their last out happened. I don't think that's going to be enough to win.

ESPN's live tracker gives the Windies a win probability of 88.25%.

Windies are rolling, 110/1 through 10 overs.

... and they finish it off with 3 sixes and 20 runs in the 11th over.

Well, that was pretty one-sided. West Indies only needed 11 overs to outscore the US. Easily the most lopsided loss for the US in this tournament.

Along with several sovereign states, the West Indies cricket team incorporates territory of the Netherlands, Great Britain and the United States.

11 minutes of stoppage time announced for the second half in Tulsa. The first half had 6 minutes of stoppage time.

And it looks like neither team is likely to get close to scoring in that time.

Full time. Scoreless draw. Scoring chances few and far between, not helped by a ref who seemed to have no idea what advantage is. I think I had at least two Serie A naps in the second half.

I almost forgot that today is the opening stage of the Tour de France. It begins with a bang instead of a whimper. Usually, it's a prologue that kicks off the event on relatively flat roads, but not this year! Commentators say it's the toughest opening stage in the history of the race. The first of 3 opening stages to start in Italy are running from Florence to Rimini (on the Adriatic coast).

Apparently no world feed on Peacock this year, though the commercials haven't been terrible so far.

4:30am was way too early to get up to watch live. Starting the stage now, though Peacock STILL doesn't have a "start from beginning" option. On my laptop I can at least start the live stream, immediately pause, and rewind to the beginning, something you can't do on the PlayStation Peacock App.

If it wasn't for half time graphics, I would have had no idea my background viewing of this Campeon de Campeones between Club America and Tigres is in Carson.
