Liverpool held to a 0-0 draw - at home(!) - by Sunderland.

ManUre draw 1-1 at West Ham on a late, marginally offside goal by Defoe. I had the pleasure of watching the last 15 minutes of the match, and I got to see the goal (I think he was offside), and then I got to watch Solskjaer and Blanc miss from close range, then watch Silvestre and Van Nistelrooy miss the rebound on Blanc's header. Almost as good as watching Arsenal win.

Dirty Leeds get killed at home, 4-2, by last-place Bolton. So much for the tactical genius of Terry Venables.

The net result is that we're back in 1st, 1 point ahead of Liverpool, 6 points ahead of Chelsea and Everton, and 10 points ahead of ManUre and Newcastle, although both have a game in hand. Everton are this year's Ipswich, and Chelsea always self-destruct. I still worry about ManUre, but a few more results like this and they're going to be too far out of touch to catch up. I wouldn't be surprised if they start focusing on the Champs League above all.

Excellent results for us. We need to keep the pressure on now for a bit, especially with important games against Man U and Liverpool looming. Players such as Jeffers, Pires and Gio coming back to add some depth back to the squad will help. And Keown must be back fairly soon to give Cygan a rest, although by the sound of it he wasn't exerted too much on Saturday! LOL!!

Have you ever seen a more beautiful 0-0 than Pool Sunderland. Macho was incredible in goal! At one point the goal attempts were 20-0 in favor of Pool. Just shows how crazy football can be.
