The last few years I've been going to MD Pride games...a great deal for me and my daughters and players.

But their website (www.mdpride.com - correct?) is gone...anybody know if they're still playing? Operating?

    Thanks for any info...

I don't know exactly what happened to them, but I know they aren't playing in 2003. They weren't listed when the W-League's schedule was released. Your closest bet for women's minor league soccer now is going to be the N. Va. Majestics, playing at Forest Park HS down near Dumfries, Va.

WHAAAAAT? They used to be the gold standard for marketing minor-league women's soccer!

Pride may join Women's Premier Soccer League, under the umbrella of the USASA.

I have heard that league was looking to expand and be more than a regional league, and that Maryland was one of the places being considered, but the WPSL already have their 2003 schedule out and it's still all west coast teams that I can tell, and there's even one team with the Pride moniker already in the league. Interesting to hear what happens with this and why Maryland is out of the W-League and looking into the WPSL.

    From the league's website:
"In 2003, the WPSL applied to become a National League. So far, teams from Texas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York have shown initial interest."
