Now this *#*#*#*#er is shooting at people on 70. My Dad drives 70 almost every weekend. Can someone tell me how this thing can get so complicated that they can't find this guy?
I think the guy or guys (I don't nessesarily buy that this is one person) are simply picking their spots...rural overpasses where they learn the escape route, and get in and get out. I was talking with my wife about it this morning. We both drive from Roberts road in Hilliard to Tuttle Crossing for work every day. Why hasn't anything occured in this area? 1) Next to no overpasses (Davidson Road and Rings Road). 2) Both overpasses are highly built up. Davidson doesn't have a good escape route, and Rings is even worse. The incident was this weekend was at an overpass in the middle of nowhere...the areas from Grove City to Obetz are so highly monitored now, the guy needs to find areas that are less populated. They will get this guy, unfortunately it will take time. And when they do get him, he will get lethal injection...although I would almost prefer he rots in solitarty confinement for 60 years...that would be more like the torture and torment he's put everyone through. I wonder...can this guy be sent to guantanamo for what are essentially terrorist acts?
Re: Re: OT: Getting a bit pissed off now Let the punishment fit the crime. Everybody who was shot at gets to take shots at this guy, eventually one will get a kill shot. Even more cruel; force him to drive in central Ohio traffic back and forth from prison to prison every day.
this *#*#*#*#er is on 70 now? funny, if this was DC or NY it would be national news on the cover of every weekly. But since its ohio nobody cares. what a crock.
It is on national news. I have had friends from California, Texas, Kansas, and Michigan all make comments to me about it. So there has to be some mention of it. I don't think it is getting the daily press because this guy doesn't appear (to me at least) to be trying to kill his targets. In DC there was the "one shot one kill" thing going on and everyone knew that the next shot would be the next obit too. TBAR
Re: Re: Re: OT: Getting a bit pissed off now I tend to agree. Let the family of the woman that was killed get the fatal shot.
It was on the NATIONAL news when that lady from Washington C.H. was killed. Since this guys aiming abilities suck, its not news worthy, because as we all know, Our news in the states is geared toward tear-jerking emotion and getting people upset and irrate. He's probably some pissed off farmer that that lost his land due to the suburban sprawl.
Sadly, it's also not making big impressions nationally because the attacks are spread out. Short attention spans and all. My prayers to everyone in the area. They'll get the *#*#*#*#er soon. RS
reports have been mixed with him using a handgun or a shotgun...neither of which are sniper type rifles. If he really wanted to murder people in this manner, he would have chosen a better weapon. Wait...that's giving this moron waaaay too much credit. Let's just put it this way...if you're firing a handgun at moving vehicles trying to hit a person...good luck. We should be thankful, I know sounds odd, that this idiot isn't using a more precise weapon.
Considering that the police are saying that their ballistics tests match 22 or 23 of the 24 cited cases, then you have to assume he's been using the same weapon the whole time. The shotgun or the handgun, but not both. This guy is getting too arrogant, to be seen in broad daylight. I'm just waiting to see what kind of mental case this prick is and what his lame excuse is going to be.
Living the in Canal Winchester/Pickerington area (the Southeast) and driving Route 33 and I-70 to and from work every day. My girlfriend is spooked. The only thing I can do is just continue to do the same damn thing every day. Drive back and forth to work, eat, watch sports, be a computer geek. When this sick fkuck changes what I do, then that sick fkuck's won... Too many sick fkuck's in this world.
There is no way it is a shotgun. None of the damage that has been shown on TV resembles a hit from a shotgun slug. One witness (the shooting down near Jefferson outlet malls) has said they saw the shooter using a handgun, and the latest (70 in Pataskala) said he saw the guy pull a rifle back and put it in the car. Does anyone here know if there is a caliber bullet that is interchangable between a handgun and a rifle? .44? CS, why do you think it would be hard to use handgun to hit a moving target? Just curious. Edited to add: I did some calling around, and apparently there is a LOT of interchangeable calibers. The most popular are 9mm, 357, and 44. Also, all of the places I called said that the damage that they have seen looks to be a 9mm. One guy even said that the police that frequent his range have said that it is "most probably" (whatever that means) a 9mm. TBAR
It would not just be the problem about a moving target (which could arguably be explained to a minimal effect because it is a zero deflection shot, with the target moving directly towards you). It is much more a problem of distance. This is a little quote I pulled down from Guns and Ammo:Handgun Accuracy If the shooter's gun can deliver 1-inch groups for every 10 yards, they should reliably be able to hit a grouping of 10-inches from 100 yards away. This could mean the difference between a bumper shot, a windshield shot, or a total miss. Now, take into effect windage, difference in elevation, and a moving target --- it is pretty damn amazing the fvck is hitting anything at all...
KK: I'm not sure where you got that from. The police has linked 8 or 9 shootings via the bullet. In most cases there were no bullets or fragments that couldn't be used. The shootings have been linked by the general area, the m.o., and additional physical evidence collected from some of the sites.
YITBOS-- Good research. Some of you know my background. The chances of this guy hitting what he's aiming at are slim-- He's got to use alot of "Kentucky windage" from up on a bridge. Too many factors with a 9mm pistol-- elevation/ slope to target, target speed, wind speed, distance. The 9mm is a light round and should lose distance pretty quick depending on the "load" in the cartridge. If he used a rifle, many more people would be dead, especially when they're driving straight at the shooter. You would be able to "eyeball" almost exactly where the victim would be, then the only problem would be the shooter's timing with the trigger pull. My opinion based on my experiences. One last thing: I think the physical evidence that the Sheriff is gathering are the casings that the shooter is neglecting to pick up. If he's ever shot at a range, he would know to police up his brass!
I honestly believe he's not out to kill so much as to scare people. I bet $100 he doesn't live in Columbus. Any takers?
New Rome Cop He is a New Rome cop with a grudge against everyone that is no longer paying the outragous traffic fines there. Good as any guess. My inlaws in the UK keep asking if the guys been caught, so it still makes even a little international news. Don't think he is trying to kill anyone, the one that hit the lady from Washington Courthouse(?) came in from a totally different part of the car and ricochetted. Stil a sick man.
