    Match Comments:

Garay: It is a tough place to play in. It’s a small venue and the fans are right on top of you. I am sure they will try to sidetrack us, but we will do whatever it takes to win.

    Real Madrid Injury Report:

    Matchday 16 opponent: Osasuna

Osasuna currently sit in 12th place of the table with 16 points. Coached by Jose Antonio Camacho, their system is based on rapid ball recovery and advancement so that the forwards can find open space to work with. Defending the Rojillo goal is Ricardo, who has started for the team for the last five years.

The two names that stand out most on the back line are Azpilicueta and Monreal. The wingers add great depth to the team and one of them is always on the move along the flank. They are always in the right place at the right time and almost impossible to beat one-on-one. In the center of the defense stands Josetxo, who is unavailable and will likely be replaced by Sergio Fernandez and Miguel Flaño.

The Osasuna midfield combines hard work with talent. Nekounam, Masoud, Juanfran provide the tempo when the team has the ball and can create plays as easily as breaking them up. It was recently announced that Portillo has signed for Hercules, thus taking the former Madridista out of the equation.

Pandiani, Aranda and Camuñas can be deadly in attack if given room to work with. Pandiani leads the team in scoring with six goals. The Uruguayan has a cannon of a leg and never hesitates to try his fortune on goal. Arana and Camuñas capitalize on their speed to clean up any second chances resulting from shots by Pandiani. While the Uruguayan uses his positioning to draw attention from the opposing defense, Aranda and Camuñas exploit their mobility by engagine the back line head on.

Nice match thread, and Pandiani scares me as well, ever since that hattrick in 07 at the Bernabeau.

I'm happy to see Alonso back in order for him to continue his improvement of form. Same attacking lineup should be used. Kaka subbed in at 75 mins.

i agree. the lineup has been suiting us well so far, no need to start messing with things now. we need to start the year off right. a win whether convincing or "ground out" is important to maintain the pressure on the top spot, especially if villareal can take something from the cules on saturday. as always, we have the talent and the squad to do it, we just need to do it.

Me too. But let's see. I'm not 100% confident. These matches after christmas holidays are difficult to predict. Camacho should have been preparing this match for some time. And we must see who much nougat have our players eaten these days.
