I am really beginning to slip in this.

I can't even use having COVID at the beginning of the year as an excuse. That should've been a reason to do this, not to ignore it.

Following a seemingly tepid preseason where we went 1-3-2, with the only win being against the Tampa Bay Rowdies, they did something rare by winning their season opener.

The MLS record for the Lions in season openers is now 2-6-0 after being Montreal Impact, 2-0.

Both goals, scored by Alexandre Pato (49') and Benji Michel (59') were off of Montreal giveaways. Then Romell Quioto got sent off at 66' for shoving Robin Jansson out of bounds.

Of course, Jansson would follow him off the pitch at 81' on a second yellow.

So as Orlando travels up to Chicago for their Sunday home opener, we won't have Jansson on the pitch for us. But other than that, it definitely wasn't a bad start. We do need to take our shots in the run of play, however.

Orlando City has traded Chris Mueller to Chicago Fire.

    Sort of.

Today, they traded their rights to Chris Mueller to Chicago in exchange for $250,000 in GAM this season and next, Chicago's natural first-round pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, and Discovery rights to a player to be named later.

Chicago entered an agreement to acquire Mueller from Hibernian yesterday. Orlando can get an additional $150,000 in GAM with performance-based incentives, and may also receive a share of the transfer money if Chicago deals Mueller elsewhere.

Mueller played 15 total matches for Hibernian in 2022, starting in seven, scoring a goal in a Scottish Cup match. He was in youth soccer in Chicago.

So we ended up getting something for him after all.
