    Thanks Mike!

So I will be picking up my two jerseys from you guys on Friday?

I haven't paid for them yet. Am I paying you? I know they have my order, they confirmed through email. I guess I should be emailing Cacustom?

Sorry about my confusion, but I am after all, confused.

Hmmm. Good questions. I assumed Cal Custom had already processed people's orders and CQ was just handing them out.

I'll check with Brian, but assume Club Quake will have them at their merchandise booth at the SSV rally.

I told Cal Custom that I need my jersey shipped to my house in Maryland, and they didn't have any problem with that and said they'd contact me again later when they were ready. I'd hate to think I'm losing out on this....

I ordered an XXL kit with Best 11 on the back...

No problems with the orders as far as I know. It's just that local fans prefer to pick them up rather than having them shipped and it appears the arrangements haven't been formalized for that yet.

The fans that usually pick up the slack on merch deliveries are all tied up with the SSV rally, the reunion game, and all the other festivities this weekend.

I'm sure it will work out just fine...

It seems that unlike the retro jerseys that will be worn by the original NASL players and the retro jerseys being sold to us, the MLS Quakes players will wear "Nike-approved" ones, meaning that they'll still have the Nike swoosh (the NASL Earthquakes wore Adidas uniforms) and the current Earthquakes logo crest (with the two stars) placed just like on the current jerseys, but otherwise they'll be just like the red NASL Earthquakes jerseys, replete with NASL San Jose Earthquakes wordmark across the chest area, black & white stripes on the sides, etc.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

These kits will look like Manchester U kits with " Earthquakes " splashed across the chest. Too bad Adidas couldn't do this -

I'm not so sure about that... I think that the retro NASL uniforms the MLS Quakes will be wearing will have the back & white stripes down the sides, just like the originals.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

I hope you're right. I find it odd that Nike doesn't make a variety of Earthquake gear ( away jerseys, shorts, etc ) and all of a sudden they're going to make a one off run of retro jerseys in low volume ? My left brow is totally raised -

For a glance at what the retro uniforms look like, visit the following webpage:

The are the exact same as the ones shown from the 2001 reunion...

The MLS Quakes will not be wearing the retro kits Cal Custom has secured for the NASL reunion game.

They will be wearing red Nike unis with the NASL logo screen-printed on the front, the MLS Quakes badge embroidered on the left chest, and all the sponsor patches, etc.

The red Nike unis have a retro look, but not an NASL Quakes retro look... if that makes sense.

    Eli -

It can't hurt to give them a call, but the sizes are probably limited as Turcs mentioned above. I spoke to them this afternnon (wed) and as of that phone conversation, they were in the process of putting names and numbers on the jerseys.

I was told that the jerserys would be ready for pick up tomorrow (thurs).

Try not to get down on Cal Custom. They are doing a helluva lot for Soccer Silicon Valley, the reunion, and Quakes fans in general.

I believe the extra retro jerseys will be available at the rally tomorrow (a handful of L and XL are left).

If either of those sizes work for you, contact me (post here or PM me by tomorrow morning) and we'll see if we can set one aside.

At the Club Quake table there will also be available a very limited amount of red tshirts with the old Quakes logo for sale.

I agree with Turco - CAL CUSTOM has been working very hard to made tomorrow and Saturday a great success

I put my order in with Brian and it was confirmed:D Now it's just a question of getting my money to Cal Custom and picking up the jersey. Will the shirts be at the tailgate so we can grab them up or will strangeness prevail and they'll vanish in thin air? Speak Mikey-wan-Kenobi, tell us all you know!;)

Yes - if it was ordered and confirmed, we hope that strangeness will not prevail and I will have them at the CQ tailgate - CQ merchandise

"Do, or do not. There is no try." (Spoken in a Yoda voice).

CQ will have the retro orders at the rally and at the tailgate, however you'll have to pay by cash or check (they're not set-up to take credit cards).

I picked mine up today and, dare I say, they look even better than the 2001 jerseys. I ordered a Paul Child model for a friend and a Mike Hewitt commemorative for me...

    Mike

P.S. Photo scarves are in and they look great! They'll also be available this weekend...
