Blind should stick to a team, and he can't just drop every game a completely different team into the game.

Depay with 2 goals, the 2nd one beauty, he missed a sitter though & did sometimes try to hard, dribble into players & so on. He is still too raw but he has too much self-belief, fighting spirit and raw talent too not make it (By raw talent I don't mean pure technical ability)

Bazoer should be nowhere near the NT.

Anyway, given current form I think this is the best set-up:

    Zoet
Karsdorp - de Vrij - BMI - Blind
    Strootman
    Wijnaldum - Vilhena
    Robben - Janssen - Memphis

Promes could easily play, and so could Dost. I know it's unlikely that Vilhena plays over the likes of Klaassen even though he's a better player and having a great season, but one can hope. Memphis has been very good with Lyon, and is regaining some form and confidence. I forgot about BMI...he's not a bad option if he can keep his head on straight he has the ability to be good.

3 good games with Ajax = NT

Blind will start to call the jong Ajax players soon.

Thats a little too harsh. He would make a decent defensive back-up player

De Ligt is gonna grow because of this opportunity, it will be a very good experience for him. The only other guy who could have been selected inplace of him is St. Juste. Other than that which CB?

Maybe you could argue from Haps to PVA to Pieters to Willems, another LB could have been taken etc !

Look how far Rekik has fallen!

Coach said he called De Ligt because of Van Dijk and Bruma being unavailable, and that De Ligt would be called with -19 or -21 if Jeffrey and Virgil were fit, that proves it's nothing about quality...The guy can be with -19 or start an important game with the senior team depending on two players injuries...

As you suggested I'd take a LB and keep Viergever as CB.
Or you got Van der Heijden, Denswil, Nuytinck, who are all starters in clubs doing fairly well. None of them is a great defender, but they can do the job.
Then you got Ake who doesn't really play now but had some great appearances as CB this season.
Eventually players like Rekik, Van der Hoorn, Gouweleeuw, Letschert...They're not playing much with their clubs but they have all been playing/preselected with Oranje last years and can do the job too.

I'm against giving a cap to any youngster who has 3 good games with Ajax, the NT shirt doesn't have any value anymore.

van der Hoorn is an accident waiting to happen. He cost the U-21's a big match several years ago and never did much for Ajax. I think Van der Heijden has been playing decently but perhaps Blind doesn't like Feyenoord players.

Well he called some and keeps calling and giving playing time to Berghuis who is no NT material.

On the other hand he has been barely considering Kongolo since he is there. 0 minutes .

De Ligt is on another level though.

Its weird how suddenly the eredivisie is pumping out defenders like its out of style

Babel knocked in 2 goals for BeSICKtas.

I would feel very comfortable in calling him up right now, if only as a backup player

Tete...? Really, how is a bench player making into the final squad? :x3: And that's with Kardorsp and Veltman are already in the pecking order. Blind Sr. is sending a wrong signal here. I think an LB cover (Pieters, PVA) would have been a better choice.

De Light's inclusion is also head scratching, although to a lesser extent. I get it, he's been impressive and has a super-bright future, but I am not sure if he's earned it. Vd Heijden has been solid. Or if Blind Sr. really wants a young blood, St. Juste has been a regular.

Disappointing that Ramselaar didn't make the cut. He's (one of) the AM's of the future.
