To be honest, I voted "meh, don't care either way" but I'd really like to change my vote now. It was cute and funny the first few times, if overused. The tenth time in a game, I don't feel like joining in anymore, but do to lend my voice. The 4th game in so few days and I can't stand it anymore. Watching other people watching us, I kinda caught the same feeling emanating from them, or maybe I'm just psychologically projecting my own feelings.
interesting considering one of our newest popular chants utitiles the phrase "we'll go *fcuking mental." let's start a thread to discuss the semantics of using the word fcuk in a public forum as well. we will also need a thread for the words bastard and shit. supporters culture people. supporters culture.
It's not simply the use of the language that bothers me as much as its the use of the language by an organized group on a regular basis for a completely unoriginal chant during a relatively meaningless part of the match.
i really wish we could designate someone to FB friend the opposing goalie the week before a game, get their wife's name, then on goal kicks chant her name then swallows... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Amanada swallows!
Matt Reis is 35 years old (was born in 1975) and he is married to his wife Nicole who was an All American Softball player at UCLA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Reis
Brilliant. Anyone have an MLS Media Guide? I said it elsewhere, but: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA BUNDY! would be great.
I don't know about the rest of the YSA fans, but all of this crap has inspired me to yell it even louder for the next home game.
i am conflicted. i know several women who play softball and are not lesbians. i also know a few who played at the top level and are. some of them are in the SoBs. and I think a couple from each group could kick my ass. that being said, how appropriate..scratch that...how effective would it be to question the sexuality of his wife?
Something like this? ***NSFW (due to language)*** [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQXFF_dEcdk"]YouTube- Slap Shot - Suzanne sucks pussy![/ame]
I'm all for calling a guy an asshole, or just insulting him, but nobody should be saying anything about somebody's wife or family. That shit ain't right. Stick to bashing the keeper, not his family.
I like it at first but we should change it up soon...I did hear a cute little girl in a Union kit say, "Mommie, did they say....?" Profanity at a game is tradition, but there can be SOME cleverness and thought mixed in - "you suck asshole" has none of that.
THANK YOU. Someone finally made a good argument. Can everyone agree with this guy, or are some people still going to be stubborn?
While we're on the subject - I have heard this chant reapetedly during the last few home games, "******** you, ******** you. ********you********you********you!" Am I hearding that right or do I just have a dirty mind?
